Well, I saw my GI on Friday for my 4 month post surgery checkup. Good news is that I'm feeling great, bad news is that I'm back on Crohn's meds again until I have my surgery to remove my rectum. So, back to 3000mg a day of Salofalk. I guess it's better to be safe rather than sorry :) And I have to have a colonoscopy in July...that will be interesting! I'll have to post what it's like to have a scope through Oscar's head...lol

But, the best news is that I'm not on the Coumadin anymore!! Yay!!! No more bloodwork twice a week....my doctor saw the meds weren't going to level out my INR so she said 'screw it' and took me off the bloodthinners :) Woohoo!!!

All in all, not a bad appointment. Now to get that referral for my next surgery...sigh...

Yay!!! That sounds like good news to me. You'll have to take Crohn's meds for a while longer but still you are feeling great and after you get your rectum taken out you won't have to take anything. I'm praying for you and yes please share what it's like to have a scope, I guess it would be, down Oscar's head.haha

That is good news! Have you been on Salofalk before? I was on it and it didnt work for me, but I have Crohns in a different area than you. It will be interesting to know about the scope. Oscar may not be happy lol. I was on blood thinners for possible thrombosis, didnt bother me at all but it is a risky drug. Yay for getting off that! Keep us posted!

I was on Pentassa when I was first diagnosed, and Salofalk is pretty much the same thing. I'm only on it to keep the inflammation in my rectum down before I have it removed :) The Coumadin didn't bother me, but they weren't working well, and the bloodwork was irritating! I'm more happy about not having to do that anymore!

 Fab news Cindy!

sending big hug for Oscar, don't be scared Oscar! :sun:

:ylol2: Cindy, this totally made my day!!! I'm now up to 17.5mg... that's one messed up med!!!

Sorry you're back on Crohn's meds, but I'm soooooooooooooooooo glad you can ditch the Coumadin and INRs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:congratualtions: :cheerss:

Hi Cindy - Sounds like a good appt all in all. Sorry you have to have another surgery, but hopefully that will be an easy one (relatively). And that the Crohn's meds will be temporary until they remove your rectum.

Keep up that positive attitude we all know and love!

- Amy
