    How quick stelara works?

My son was seeing improvements in symptoms around week 3 after the initial infusion and his calpro was < 50 around week 3 too. He was on Humira prior to the switch. No mtx. I heard from quite a bit of people that Stelara can take a while. I hope it works for you soon!

    Jaw swelling,

Hey @Crohns dad, I am so sorry to see your post about another bad experience. :( I agree with "This IBD is so stressful." I hope you guys will have peace real soon. I left UNC and am now with an awesome pediatric doc at Duke. PM me if you would like to consider seeing her for a 2nd or 3rd...

Daily consumption of fruit/vegetables in OECD countries and crohn's disease prevalence.

You are taking my words too literally. When I said "publish", I meant announce it to the world thru whatever medium that makes sense to him.

    Lymphonodular hyperplasia

Not symptoms but the actual plasia. I wonder if it goes away on its own.

    Lymphonodular hyperplasia

Does it ever go away if the trigger food is removed? My son has never had this in any of his reports before.

    Lymphonodular hyperplasia

Has anyone gotten "lymphonodular hyperplasia" noted in their child's pill cam report? My son's endoscopy and colonoscopy including biopsies came back normal just two months ago. This week's pill cam noted lymphonodular hyperplasia in the terminal ileum so it seems to me that he got it just from...

Omvoh (mirikizumab) (similar to Stelara) approved for UC but not for Crohns??

When you said infections would be recurring, do you mean pneumonia caused by the cold?

    Humira Fail What Next..

Sorry to hear about the skin problem. It's very annoying when you put all hope into one medicine and it gives you something else to fix. My son got psoriasis while on Humira. His GI said that many peds have run into similar issues while on anti-tnf so her general practice is if the patient has a...

First JAK Inhibitor Approved by FDA for Treatment of Crohn's

Patients in clinical trials go through much more thorough testing and receive dedicated and personalized support. Patients are seen way more often and get to talk about anything and everything that's happened to them since all symptoms (including psychological) need to be logged. They get...

    Fecal protein

Absolutely. My friend's son always has normal calpro < 50 no matter how much inflammation he has. He could be in ER and his calpro wouldn't lift a finger. It's really a wild case.

Molecular and Phenotypic Characterization of Escherichia coli Associated with Granulomatous Colitis of Boxer Dogs

I just learned today that there is a such thing called autoimmune hepatitis. The doctor said that these patients take different medications to suppress their immune systems. The doctor also said for people with Crohn's who also have autoimmune hepatitis, the cause is not Crohn's is attacking the...

Molecular and Phenotypic Characterization of Escherichia coli Associated with Granulomatous Colitis of Boxer Dogs

What about the blood markers? did crp, sed rate stay elevated (assuming they were elevated prior to the diet) after 2 weeks of carnivore?

This doesn't sound like Crohn's, right...?

That is so interesting! I haven't met anyone who is the other way around. I do think that we must have different subtypes. My son's flags will be all over the place if his inflammation is active whereas my other friends would only look for certain markers that are meaningful for them. @kiny...

Intestinal fungal commensals and food-derived yeasts, drives inflammatory CD4+ T cell responses in patients with CD

I just saw a bunch of posts on reddit of using MCT oil to "cleanse" candida. I was expecting herbal options so this is all very enlightening.

From ASCA breakthrough in Crohn's disease and Candida albicans research to thirty years of investigations about their meaning in human health

My son tested positive for yeasts, blastocystis hominis cysts (protozoa) and endolimax nana cysts (protozoa). I wonder if I need to get him treated?

Intestinal fungal commensals and food-derived yeasts, drives inflammatory CD4+ T cell responses in patients with CD

Kiny, what do you mean by " the failure of EN in UC lacking in immune response to yeasts"?

This doesn't sound like Crohn's, right...?

Yes, the usual suspects like crp and sed rate are elevated. Calpro is the only one that is not meaningful for them.
