    Disabilty help

I got SSD approved Feb of 2011. I am 47 and had Crohn's for 15 years. I had a fistula surgery that did not heal correct. That may have made a difference for SSD. I first went on short term, then long term disability from work. While I was on long term, my disability insurance made me file with...

    Smoking & Crohn's Disease

I smoke about 3 small cigars per week, it has helped me with my nerves and depression and no nasty side affects/addiction as with anti depress meds, and I tried a LOT of phsyc meds, most make me very sleepy and/or just make me vomit. Actually I was even addicted to zanax for a while.

    Anal fistula plug procedure

I had a plug procedure done - did not work, as my surgeon did NOT pre medicate me with antibiotics. I developed infected abscess and plug was removed, then I was put on very strong IV antibiotics to clear infection, infection cleared up, but it also wiped out all the good bacteria in by gut and...

    Fistula treatment

Please try non surgical options firs, DO not go for "lay open" - I had it done and it did not heal correct - I am now leaking after BM. MY docs - both GI and surgen never mention Humira or Remicade as an option at all!!!Now I know better, but it's too late.

    Fistula Plug

I had a plug - did not work, got infected, was put on antibiotics and got C-diff. My doc did not put me on Flagyl prior to plug, that may have caused it to become infected and fail.

    Butt, this is Embarrassing!

You need to inform your GI about this ASAP. IT's his job to check for things like that - do not be embarrassed! You may have an abccess that will keep growing and may cause more issues.

I take Lexapro. It helped me a lot with my mood and depression issues. Also I think it helped with my belly pain.

    Holistic way ???

I combine prescription meds with low fiber diet and UltraInflamX for my vitamin/nutrition needs. I found that for me, UltraInflamX works the best. I was low on many vitamins and it put me back on track pretty fast. On my bad flare days, I take UltraInflamX with few Ensure can’s and no solid food.

Anyone had this reaction while on Humera - swollen eyelid?

Talked to my GI and family docs - they don't think its related to Humira, got an untibiotic cream for the eye. Will see if it helps. Thanks everyone for advice.

    Depression or Not?

Really, all the days of my life started to blend together, and even when I was doing something “fun” it just felt like another thing to get through before I went to bed and started it all again the next day. OMG That is how I feel for the past year!!! I am kind of stuck in this never ending...
