    Now what?

This is a brief and mainly pointless rant. The prednisone has not helped my pain 10 days in. The doctor responds that "Prednisone would have helped if the pain was due to crohn's." So sending me for a HIDA scan to evaluate gallbladder function. First of all, is that even true...

    Does prednisone cause shaking?

I'm having trouble finding that combination. Most seem to be orthopaedic surgeons? I'll do more research on it. Thank you

    Does prednisone cause shaking?

That's just crazy. Being treated for one thing, with a treatment that should also treat another thing, can trigger (not cause) the second thing to manifest??? Humans are complicated and weird. Funny thing. My primary referred me to Rheumatology last month while I was there. They just called...

    Does prednisone cause shaking?

Can that cause tremors or shaking? I'll read the link at lunchtime, thanks. The other thing is that if treatments for autoimmune diseases are similar, then I would think the remicade would address things beyond just the crohn's. Flawed reasoning, perhaps.

    Does prednisone cause shaking?

I remember I actually had a couple bouts of uncontrolled leg tremors early in July. Right about when the crohn's symptoms kicked up. One of the issues/problems is that I can FEEL things before the labs tell the story. Example: the first med we tried was Imuran. The doc told me that a small...

    Does prednisone cause shaking?

Yeah, never want to rule out the idiot factor. :D

    Does prednisone cause shaking?

I'm on a low dose, 30mg per day, and I've only had 3 doses. My body's thermostat is out of whack, I'm achy, and I've had trouble with my hands or legs shaking. It doesn't seem like this should be possible? So, maybe a flare? Or a psychosomatic reaction because I'm an idiot??

    Mild stricture at IC Junction

My doc is out of the office this week. I could send a message to the clinic and see if another practitioner would weigh in. But I'm kind of a pain. I get weird side effects and the things that rarely happen seem to happen to me. So they might be a little leery. I could try it on my own, but...

    Mild stricture at IC Junction

I'm on remicade. They did labs a month ago and the medicine levels and antibodies were all where they want them. My doctor is out of the office next week. I could send a message to the clinic and see if another doc might weigh in. He said the stricture and inflammation at the IC junction...

    Mild stricture at IC Junction

I had an upper endoscopy with dilation and a colonoscopy this afternoon. Not the first time doing it. Doc said the colon looked good, but there was a mild stricture and inflammation at the IC junction. And since stricture means a capsule endoscopy would be riskier, my labs are all normal, and...

Obstruction? How long is too long?

Labs are all normal, too. The doc said the CT does show some inflammatory changes, but that's probably what they saw on the MRI and why my GI doc wants the colonoscopy.

Obstruction? How long is too long?

ER ordered a CT. Result shows no obstruction, so I can go home and take some meds to clear out. So that's a relief.

Obstruction? How long is too long?

I don't think my GI clinic has an on-call doctor via phone. I live less than 10 minutes from the hospital. So after discussing with a friend and DH, I took one tablet before bed and agreed that if didn't do anything, I would head to the ER in the morning. I'm not in significant pain, so I'm...

Obstruction? How long is too long?

That is sound reasoning. Thank you

Obstruction? How long is too long?

Almost 7 days. The pain is not constant and does not require an ER. I'm worried that if I take the dulcolax, it might put me at that level. And I'm thinking now there isn't any way to know except to either try it. Or go in.

    Crohn’s pain feels like labour!

I was diagnosed around 6 years after having my youngest. I've had ovarian cysts burst and THAT pain was WOW. Horrible. I didn't spend that much time in hard labor so I haven't ever thought to compare it.

Obstruction? How long is too long?

I was dx'd with crohn's around 5 years ago. I talked to my GI a few weeks ago because I had been bouncing between constipation and diarrhea, with increased abdominal pain. Eating was causing a lot of pain, so I cut way back on food. Doc sent me for an MRI. They found soft tissue thickening...

Extra vaccinations due to compromised immunity

I had a check-up with my PCP yesterday. She's amazing. Her mom had crohn's and her daughter has RA, so she listens to me and never looks at me like I'm crazy. She suggested I get a pneumonia vaccine (PREVNAR 13), she said she recommended it for her daughter, too. So I did it. And my arm...

    Marriage and Crohns

Do you have the option of interacting with the potential spouse before the arrangement is formalized? I'm sorry I don't know much about the customs for arranged marriages. If it's a situation where you or the other person could back out without causing a breach before finalizing the...

    Kind of Feel Like Dying

FMLA doesn't have to be a continuous 12 weeks away from work. I use it on an as-needed basis, and I'm able to use vacation or sick time to cover it (as long as I have the time accrued). Anyway, it sounds like work might be out of your hands for now. But if it comes down to possibly being let...
