Is anyone in a similar situation?

When i was getting obstructions and regular flare ups, my body was so run down that i also got mouth ulcers, boils (on my legs and bum) and my hair molted alot more and was greasy alot. They only stopped when i stopped getting obstructions. Yet i am on azathioprine, so my immune system is low...

    I had pizza after 18months!

So like alot of us on here, i have lactose intolerance due to my crohns. I was hanging onto anything i could get away with, and mozzarella was the last thing that i had to stop. And its been so depressing, im such a fan of all things cheesy. And having the free from versions i just didnt like...

When to take azatioprin after food?

For my first few weeks, i took them within 30mins to a hour after eating my dinner. And had horrendous nausia. So i changed to as soon as my last bite of dinner is done, i take my 3 aza pills. And i have not had nausia since! Apart from one evening out where i forgot my pills and took them...

Can you Sit in the sun when on Aziathoprine?

Im on 150mg a day of aza and was told to never sit out in the sun even with 50spf on. I do have very light skin and never liked the sun anyway but i would say i have tanned more with aza. Normally i just go red and nothing comes of it. Im never really in the sun but if i was in the garden i sit...

    How did your Crohn's begin?

I had been asking for testing for 7years, then once i started getting obstructions my GP finally sent me for testing. From the refferal to GI to diagnosis was 16 months. I had endoscopy, colonoscopy, blood tests galore, stool samples, xray, mri, and the ONLY thing to show my crohns and stricture...

Are difficult patient and 'black lists' real?

Mtseeg that literally blows my mind! They make it sound like your some kind of criminal for wanting your results to be followed up and get the treatment you should rightfully expect! Wow. I bet that stress really did your conditions the world of good! Is it possible to get marks removed from...

    Budesonide withdrawal

I did have withdrawal when i was also on budesonide. It was when i was on it for 9months solid, but little 6 or 8 week ones i didnt. It was bad and i felt like a junkie! I had headaches, knackered, nausia, felt shaky and dizzy, i hurt and ached all over and i didnt realise it at first but i kept...

    UK Blue Badge/Disability Parking Badge

I had a blue badge for 2 years but that was for my other 8 illnesses. I tried before i was on PIP and got rejected, 4 months later i got PIP and had tmenough mobility points to get the badge without having to have another assesment (as PIPs one is very hard to pass). My mums partner had the sme...

    Azathioprine difficulties

It is a hard medication to get on with. Im lucky that i had my awful week when i first went on it, then the headaches stopped and i stopped feeling on and off nausious in around a month. But im fine now, but beware, if i dont take them (150mg) around the sameish time everyday, and straight after...

    Is Olive Oil laxative?

I make myself dipping bread with olive oil for dinner sometimes and i find it always helps any constipation i have. But i wouldnt say it makes me go any more, just easier when i do go.

    Stool softeners

As said above i would ask first. But i can get constipated whilst still going regularly due to painkillers. It even showed on a xray once, and yet i was going normally (as normal as ours can be lol). So same as above, when i dont go for a day i panic. My GI has told me to consider stool...

    What foods do you miss?

I have always been more into cheesy, creamy foods more than desserts. And i hugely miss italian and mexican foods. Lasagne, dominos, cheesy chips, tacos, quesadillas etc. Anything cheesy. I started thoroughly enjoying veggies (love a brussel sprout and tenderstem broccoli) so i also miss that...

Can intense physical activity set off Crohn's?

I would definitely say physical activity makes my crohns worse. I have alot of other illnesses which are affected and stop me doing any real activity. But even if i bend over or hunch my stomach over, i get pain and it starts off stitch pains in my ileum until i stop. If i stand/walk too long i...

    Service Dog Anyone?

I have joked before about how my dog must be a service dog! He sticks to my side on my bed, he normally lays under the duvet with me by my stomach but in a flare its like he knows and discreetly lays by my feet and is no trouble. He doesnt even get excited for "poopies" as usual when we get up...

    Took my pills late?

I also agree. I used to take mine anywhere between 9:30am and 12:30 depending when i get up (normally that depends on how ill i am and if ive slept well) and never had problems.

I can't look at people anymore

I have gone through feelings like that, more so a couple of years ago in my mid twenties. As everyone was starting there lives, cars, jobs, marriage, holidays, houses and nice nights out. But then i felt literally in a stagnant era. Just not progressing, not feeling like a adult should as i...

    Beau's lines!

I have them on every fingernail. I have them slightly on my big toenails. I have had them longer than ive had crohns, well longer than i knew i had crohns symptoms anyway.
