Medications other than immunosuppressants?

Except for the usual IBD medications steroids/immunosuppressants and such. What other medications are many of you on? Antidepressants, anti anxiety, pain relievers, sleep medications, vitamin supplements and others??? Since Crohns frequently leads to other health problems along with it. I was just curious to know?

I take Amitriptyline, between 50-80 mg, an hour or so before bed, for a restful sleep. I find a good nights sleep makes everything better, plus it is an antidepressant too. It takes my back and joint pains away as well. I think it helps me the most out of all my meds.

Pain meds can be a double edged sword. Use them when you really need it. I've been told I have to get a pain management doctor. But our situations maybe completely different. My sleep is so messed up. I take sleep medication every once in awhile. It tends to make me tired all day but if I don't I'm up all night. Everyone is different. I do take antidepressants and medications for anxiety. Then a load of other meds. I have short intestinal syndrome so pills especially vitamins go straight through me. It's best for me to find liquid vitamins.

I heard short intestinal syndrome can be very hard to live with and manage. I guess it depends from case to case but I do really really feel for you.

I also have hypothyroidism and take synthroid. I have short bowel syndrome which I give myself B12 shots once a month.

When on steroids, like now, I take calcium and vitamin D. I take B12 because I don't eat meat. I've had my vitamin levels done once or twice a year, and am no longer deficient in anything else, but I still take a multivitamin. I try to control stress by natural means.

Rx: anxiety, sleep, muscle spasm, blood pressure lowering, birth control pills, type 2 diabetes injection, folic acid, pain meds as needed, acid reflux meds as needed
Supplements: multi vitamin for women, turmeric, magnesium, collagen, biotin, fish oil, b12, melatonin, vitamin d, vitamins b6

Remicade and MTX for CD

I don't have Crohn's. I have a colitis IBD condition. I don't take this medication either, but keep thinking I'll give it a try at some point.

The medication Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) can be helpful for some. Instead of being an immunosuppressant it reportedly boosts the immune system. It has few negative side effects.

In the treatment section are testimonials for those taking LDN.
