I Think my Cat is Dying :(

Thyroid meds are super tricky, even in people, 0.01 of a mg can make a difference. I hope a dose adjustment is all that's needed....

Humira with methotrexate vs without it

I was on methotrexate for about 8 months before my doc added Humira to the mix. I also had the same tired/sick feeling after taking the MTX, so after a few months on Humira, my doc said I could stop taking the methotrexate, and Humira alone seemed to work for me for almost two years. Just had...

Weaning off pred when using Humira

I've been on Humira twice a week for about two years. Recently flared, so doc put me on 40mg of pred, as well as changed my Humira to weekly... Haven't started the pred taper yet, and haven't noticed anything yet about being on the pred/Humira combo... I'll keep an eye on this thread though...

    Prep question please help!!

EmilyElizabeth; I've had the same prep as you. You take 2 Duloclax pills a few hours before you take the first sachet of Pico Salax. My doc even suggested having a bottle of magnesium citrate on hand in case things weren't clear on the morning of the procedure. (I really didn't need the...

    How to help the vomiting?

Yikes... are you able to keep food down? I'm also worried about a possible obstruction; not to mention you must be dehydrated. Get thee to the hospital!

    Humira Club Support Group

As far as immediate side effects, mine included an injection site reaction. I wouldn't expect you should have any other troubles, some people mention feeling 'run down' or like they might be coming down with a cold. Hope you stay well!

    Travel Insurance (for Canadians)

How long will you be out of the country? I bought travel insurance when I went on vacation earlier this year; it had a similar statement, but thankfully all was well and I didn't have to use it... I would assume if he were to have a blood test before leaving that showed no markers of...

    Symptoms confusing me..... again

What are you eating? Could you switch to a low-residue or liquid diet to give your guts a rest? A blockage would be extremely painful... Keep an eye on things and keep us posted!

    ...so much for remission :S

Argh!!! The return of the damned Crohn's flare!!! I was doing so well on Humira, everything was great and I had almost forgotten I even had Crohn's... Then, some stressful life events smacked me about a month ago, and BOOM :ybatty: - The D started, the nausea, the pain... eventually lost my...

    So I got a herina

Heyyy Jason, long time no see! Sucks to hear about the blockage & hernia... are they going to do anything to fix the hernia? Cool beans about Cuba, though; where are you going? Have a great trip, try to leave some rum for the Cubans... ;)

    5 Years

Well, it's today. My 5-year Crohnsiversary. I was diagnosed on May 17, 2007, after two weeks in hospital and a year of being ill beforehand... I finally had some answers and could start moving forward!! It was a challenge at first - the dreaded Prednisone; failing Pentasa, Salofalk...

    Shingles?

Outlier; the vaccine was never offered to me, and I didn't know about it at the time... If it's a live vaccine, I don't think it would be good for us on Humira. Marjory; I don't think it's necessarily Crohn's increasing the likelihood of shingles... It has to do more with the...

    Zopiclone / Imovane / Zimovane & Lunesta

Doc, I've tried zopiclone, which didn't agree with me... Sure, I slept all night, but I apparently slept-walked and slept-ate an entire box of ice cream! So, I don't take it anymore, and use some other 'smokable medicine' if I have trouble sleeping. :) If I'm going to eat an entire box of...

"extra heavy syrup" in all canned fruit

Extra heavy syrup is just sugar and water... You can use all white sugar, honey, corn syrup, or a combination of whatever you like. There are different 'weights' of sugar syrup, and it all depends on the ratio of water to sugar... Light syrup has less sugar, more water; heavier syrup has...

    Pets!

My dog is so wonderful to have around! She knows when I'm not feeling well, physically and emotionally - if I'm crying, she'll come over and try to lick my face and if I'm sick, she lays right beside me. She's an 8 year old Akita cross that I've had since she was 4 months old. We've been...

    Montreal - anyone from there?

Hey Doc; I see Dr. Waqqas Afif at the Royal Vic. I've only seen him twice since I've moved here, and I've been in remission, so I can't speak about how good of a doctor he is if you are sick and need care. He did, however, get me in for a colonoscopy within three weeks, so that was much better...

    Montreal - anyone from there?

Hey, Dr. Who... I'm practically in Montreal! I cross the bridge every day for work. *wave* What's up?

    Random?

Weird... I get pain under my left rib all the time!! It's like a constant ache but if I press on it, ouch! I've mentioned it to my docs several times, and even though I wince when they press on it, too - no one seems overly concerned about it. I had an ultrasound on the area and everything...

    Shingles?

Hi KM! I had shingles recently! I'm JUST now getting over my shingle pain/itching... It first showed up about month ago, and I had the same symptoms - the 'bee sting' jabbing pains, the constant aching... the first couple of days I was really sore, and then a rash showed up. The doc...
