Hi Guys,

I recently have started to experience some quite severe abdominal pain with my crohn's. This is not something I am used to as even with my worst flare ups I would never have any pain at all. The doctor prescribed me some tramadol for the pain and some steroids to calm it down but its been two weeks and still the same. Is this a sign that my Crohn's is getting worse? I am currently taking humira 40mg every two weeks but have never achieved remission from it. Does this mean that I finally have to give in and have surgery? It is something I never wanted to do :(

Hi Joe,
Time for you to report back to your specialist with your symptoms.
He/she should be made aware of your condition and that the prescribed meds are not working for you.
They need to find out the reasons.Could be anything----a hidden infection, abscess etc.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha

Thanks very much for the reply. I have some flagyl meds here but I want to wait to see if it gets any worse before I take them. It was actually an infection causing an obstruction which led to me being diagnosed. I am not due to see my crohns doctor again until February so I am stranded until then.

i have had crohns for almost 20yrs it gets worst every yr, never went into remission and i had very bad pain fr day one, so i agree u should c ur dr and check it out
