Hello,

just a bit of advice really..

ive had crohn's since last october, and although ive been stable on aza 150mg i still have stomach pain so im scheduled for two test next week to look at my small bowel to see if there is any signs of crohns in there aswell as my large bowel. recently i have been having blood in my stools and i was just wondering what this could mean?

Welcome to the forum! Hard to say what the blood means. Can be you are flaring again, and lets hope that isnt what it is.

Any other symptoms?

Hi there :bigwave: With the pain as well as blood there is a possibility of active disease altough I really hope this isn't the case. If the tum is a little grumpy depending on your weight/bloods there is potential for a little more of an increase on your Aza dose if needed (I have been on 200mg previously). Will keep fingers crossed that this is a litle blip that is quickly sorted, let us know how you get on :hug:

I'm sorry you're having trouble As you didn't give us details on the actual blood, what you may want to do is read our "Blood in Stool" article which gives a little information about the different colored blood and what that might be. That might help you then respond with additional followup questions.

hi there try not to worry until you get your results. quite often bleeding can be from an ulcer (as these can bleed a lot), may also explain the pain too.

had my first test yesterday, a barium mri scan.. they gave me three jugs of the liquid to drink, and a couple of injections, which was fine but after i had left made me very sick and also diareah. i had terrible stomach pain and a temperture of 40.5 so called an ambulance an was taken into majors, was released at 2am with everything calming down after been given fluids and a strong paracetamol. the blood in my stools is very fresh and red. im due an endoscopy tomorrow which im hoping they'll knock me out for

I'm sorry you are going thru the tests for what they put us through, but I'm darned glad they are doing them to find out what is going on with you!

Sorry to hear your having a rough time of it at the moment!!
Blood can mean a number of things, usually a sign it's active!
Ive had flares for the past 8-9 months, and like you had blood present shortly before having an MRI done. It's been a LONG, painful and exhausting 8-9 months but finally I will be starting remicade infusions within the next few weeks. I hope you dnt have to wait as long for an answer and finally some pain free days

Finally off the pred
Currently on 100mg azathioprine and B12 injections 3 monthly
