Hi - first time posting and first time looking for support :) thanks for having s place where I can ask questions,

Bit of history - July 2015 had anal abscess. Was told hemoroids and by the time doctors believed me about the pain and discovered what it was I was septic and ended up staying in hospital 10 days.

January 2016 - same thing but doctors believed me. Drained abscess in ER and sent hime with antibiotics - quick recovery

July 2016 - another abscess this time horseshoe shaped perianal abscess. Ended up in surgery to get it drained, overnight in hospital and sent home. Not bad recovery. Had colonoscopy and nothing looked wrong. Saw specialist and on wait list for MRI

January 2017 - another horseshoe shaped perianal abscess. No one wants to deal with it - takes a few days to get drained and surgeon who did it was amazing. Left two drains in and is draining all the time. Been a month and still disgusting stuff coming out.

Question. Since this last surgery I haven't felt great. I feel full, lost some of my appetite and am losing weight. My specialist says it looks like it is healing well but I feel tired and it hurts. My lower back often hurts. I have never felt this way and I wondered if it is part of my continuous drainage. I was not put in antibiocs this time unlike the last three times where I was on daily IV treatments.

Cartuin, in 1992, I had an abscess that drained and shortly after that it came back and I needed IV antibiotics for it to heal. Have you had your blood checked to see if you are anemic? Have you been to a rheumatologist concerning your back? Hope you feel better soon.
