So we all have "those" days. Fed up with med. Undiagnosed. Sick IBD. You know what I mean. The question is...what do you do to lift yourself out of a funk?

I love talking with my niece and nephews.

These are my top coping skills:

If I'm well enough to walk dogs daily I do.

Let myself freak out for an hour thinking of all my health fears and anxiety causing situations
Then I make myself list all I feel grateful for, and remind myself I will do this one step at time, and that I can choose to do so with grace, rather then negative thinking etc. Somehow it helps. I also think about how strong I know I am from all I've been through already.

Cooking and listening to music.

When really sick just various websites and texting with friends.

I hug my husband.

Sometimes I just put an end to the day, take a pill that helps me relax, and go to bed early and I feel better after having a longer rest.

Eat clean_non GMO

invite a friend over

Take myself to the restaurant a couple blocks away for a bowl of won ton soup and people watching.

If I'm not off sick, immersing myself in a creative project at work

Laughing

Those are my top coping skills.

I love spending time with my nephew too. He's always happy, which makes me feel happy. My dog too, though she's better for curling up and cuddling with when I want to have a good cry and just wallow in self-pity for a bit; my nephew's always charging round causing chaos, so being with him is better when I just want to forget about things. If I have energy, I'll get out and take my dog for a walk. If I'm tired, I have a long hot shower and a sleep.

I recently took up the craft of "beading" where one makes jewelry out of beads and you buy the hardware (chains, links, etc) to attach it all together. Requires various hand tools and creativity. I find this craft calming in that I can sit to do it, and it deflects my mind from thinking about my stomach pains. I am not a very creative person so by the time I make one bracelet I have spent 2-3 hours figuring it all out and making it! :) At this rate I will be sure to have my 8 bracelets made by Christmas!!

Hope you feel better.
