So I’ve been prednisone for the past 5 weeks as I had a bad relapse before Christmas and was in hospital for two week (I was released two days before Christmas though) and it has been tapered down. I’m currently on 20mg and have been for two weeks. The doctors want me to stay at 20 for a month as everytime I reduce to 20, I have another flare up.
But the last couple of days I have been experiencing a lot of numbness in my left leg even when I’m sitting down. It feels funny like a tingling feeling and it can stay like that for a few minutes before I get the sensation and then again after a couple of hours. Also when I’m in class and I’m writing notes in my lectures, I’ve noticed that my right hand has a tremor to it. It shakes quite badly when I write and it has gotten quite bad that I can’t even read my notes.
In the past when I have had been on steroids, I used to get cramps all the time and I still do and I understand that it is a common side effect. I did look up numbness and steroids and they did say that it is a side effect but to consult the doctor. I do have an appointment next month to receive the biopsy results, but should I wait that long or do I contact them on Monday and ask them?
