Anyone get chest pain after Remicade Infusion?

I've been in the MOTHER of all flares so my GI doubled my dose of Remicade. After I had my last infusion for about a week I had chest pain on my left side, starting the day after, going down my left arm, which incidentally is the arm I had the infusion in.

It improved every day but it was a little disturbing. My GP checked my heart-everything was fine, but BP was really high-which she attributes to the stress of the flare and the huge amounts of pred I've been on. I also have been really tired and my muscles ache and cramp bad enough to take Flexeril. I got terrible charlie-horse cramps in my calves as well.

Has anyone here have this happen? Anything I can do to avoid having it happen again? Please help-my next infusion is Thursday. Any advice is welcome guys-thanks for listening! :thumright:

Ive heard it is one of the side effects, unfortunately i dont think theres much you can do :(

Thanks Rygon-apparently my doctor expected it this time. He instructed the nurse to have me take Tylenol and Benadryl every four hours for the first three days. So far, so good.

cool, glad they have sorted you out. Hope it sorts oyu ouyt. btw I thought benadryl was a hayfever tablet lol?

i had bad chest pains after both infusions, the doc said they could give me something for the pain, but it would give me a bad headache. i didn't want to swap one pain for another. i also lost the muscles in the back of my legs and couldn't stand for a couple of days.

Its an antihistamine, to prevent a reaction to the remicade. They usually give it as a pre-med along with some kind of steroid to prevent an allergic reaction.
