British Army Medical Discharge

My name is Scott and have very recently been diagnosed with either Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis, im waiting to see the specialist to find out which but told I defo have one or the other.

I have currently served nearly 14 years in the army and am employed in a front line role, I have never come across anyone with any of these conditions and don't really know where I stand career wise, having read a few posts and forums it has left me no clearer, so my question to any serving or ex serving members is:
1. is MD (medical Discharge) inevitable
2. if not MD would pap10 be on the cards
3. if neither is my deployablity and career affected
4. for the last 6 years or maybe longer I have been seeing the Doc with Stomach complaints, passing blood, back problems etc, should this possibly have been picked up or considered sooner, after all it was only after seeing a Civvie Doc that I was diagnosed (standard)

Any feedback and experience would be appreciated

Were you ever mass immunized in the army? Vaccinations over a short period?
Also im wondering whether your back pain is linked to ankylosing spondylitis. Which is exactly what i have.

Tbh if I were immunised I probably would have paid lip service to it, that's an interesting link about the back pain, I have been trying to link the two and as it happens mentioned it to my MO 2 days ago, he wasn't convinced but then read up and told me he would do some tests once I have seen the specialist, even more annoyingly my back went yesterday on pt and now am stuck on sick leave at home.
Is your condition in hand with a bowel disease, and where you MD'd as a result.

Yeah it is, and no not really, i actually decided to leave the army due to disinterest. I would not stress too much if you are being discharged or not. There are so many different options out there. Leaving the army was probably one of the best choices i made. Good luck man
