can any1 help me im really sore after a sigmoidscopy and endoscope todays

i feel like my insides have been ripped appart i have took co codamel to try get it away feel like really bad period pains help is this normal

Hi shelly - yes, discomfort/cramping can be normal after a scope - especially if a lot of air was pumped in (and not taken back out!) and if biopsies were taken. Try a heating pad, and lying down to take pressure off, it should be feeling better tomorrow!

Also - if biopsies were taken, don't be surprised to find some blood when you go to the bathroom the first couple times....

Sorry to hear of your pain and discomfort.
I find a hot water bottle at my side and a heating pad on tummy can be helpful.
You should feel better in a day or two but if not you should get in touch with the doctor who did the scoping.Hopefully you were told this by the endoscopy unit.
