chills on imuran

So I woke up last night freezing and shivering. It took me forever to get back to sleep, I took a couple tylenols and fell alseep at some point but wghen I woke up this morning now I am hot, maybe fevered, I guess I need to get a thermometer and my neck is killing me. I have been worried about being on Imuran but reading here I think it is ok. Ive been on it for just over 2 weeks now and have to work till friday so the chances of getting to the Dr. is slim before that. any ideas or suggestions?

Your body definitely needs time to adjust to something systemic like Imuran, but that said, you could have an ordinary cold or flu, which are much easier to get while taking Imuran. Can you get an evening appointment?

Did you take your temp? What was it?

Ok so when I got the chills last night again I took my temp and I did not have a fever. I could not fall asleep so I took a shower to try and get warm, that worked a bit but then I took my temp a bit later and it was 103.5. that was pretty high, also i am noticing that my neck is sooo sore, the first night I thought it was because I was shivering so much but I did not shiver as much last night.

You need to call the dr or go to ER. not trying to scare you but sore neck plus fever are two of the symptoms of meningitis.

So I called my dr and got in this morning. she took a quick check and sent me to ER cause she could not find any sourse of infection. I am so worried about work though. I work at Sears, just got a new management position there as the shop owner of childrenswear and sears days starts tomorrow and I was supposed to work tonight and tomorrow night getting ready for the weekend. i am not there for them at work now but hopefully everything is good there. i just dont want to end up losing my job cause the most important days i cant be there

back from hosp. No infections everything is normal and they cannot figure out what could have been causing the fever. oh well, ill take it

it is really good that you were checked over with your symptoms----better safe than sorry
It's one of those things with Crohn's and also you can't afford to take any chance especially when taking azathoiprine.
Onward and upwards, hope you will soon be better.
