I got some samples of coloplast bags and just got around to trying them. I have the drainable bag with the valcro on the bottom. I really like the way these bags drain. Much easier to clean then the Hollister bags I was using with the clip. My problem with the coloplast is that the valcro has come off the bag in one spot. I just put this bag on Sunday night. Does anyone who uses these bags know if this is a regular problem with coloplast or did I just get a bad bag? BTW I'm using a one piece bag.

You must have just gotten a bad bag...I've been using Coloplast for over 3 years and have never had that happen. Give them a call and let them know and they'll send you some more freebies :)

Thanks! I gave coloplast a call an they were very apologetic. They are sending me more samples. He said they should be her Thursday. I have to say I have some Convatac samples so I decided to use one of those this morning when I took the coloplast off. It is my first try at a 2 piece. The wafer has the moldable ring in it. It was the easiest change I have done in the short time I have been doing this. I'm hoping this Convatac system works for me. Not having to do any cutting made things so much quicker.

I think those mouldable ring bags are fantastic. I don't use them cos my stoma is such an odd shape that I couldn't get them to work properly and also I like the ones I am using at the moment (welland flair active convex one piece) but it seems like a brilliant idea for the base plate to mould up around your stoma. If I had a more regular shape I would use them. Good luck with them Dukeis.
P.s. How are you feeling now? Have you got over all the infections etc?

I'm doing better, thanks for asking. Got a call from surgeons nurse yesterday that the CT I had done last week show the abscess was all gone. Hopefully I won't hit anymore bumps in the road now.

Dukeis I love coloplast because of how easy they are to empty. It makes me feel much cleaner and its just quicker and easier in the bathroom. I had the velcro pull off on a couple bags recently too and called the company and was rushed replacements.
After using the coloplast bags I couldn't go back to anything else because I just hated how they empty in comparison.
Glad to hear you are feeling better now as well!

I absolutely love the drain pouch on the Coloplast Sensura bags. Unfortunately, I only got to use it for about a week. My stoma is too flush, so I needed a deeper convexity than the Sensura offered. They switched me to Coloplast's Assura line. The convexity works great, but the wafer adhesive is much more harsh (which, I suppose it has to be) than the Sensura, and the drain pouch isn't as user-friendly. It's still MUCH better than the Hollister chip-clip design, however.

I've been told that I can try a two-piece with the Assura wafer and Sensura pouch. While this feels like it could be the best of both worlds, I'm leary of the two-piece. I feel like it can come undone too easily. Anyone using a Coloplast two-piece with success?

I used to use the coloplast two pieces before my reversal and LOVED them.
I never had any leaks, and never had any problems with the bag coming away from the baseplate, even when I forgot to do up the clip on the coupling mechanism (which I did A LOT!)
Once you've done up the clip you have to pull pretty damn hard to get the bag off "accidentally."

Like Lucinda said, you have have pull really hard to get the bag to come off if you have it attached properly. I love, love, LOVE the locking bag. I've never had a problem with the bag coming off accidentally in the almost 4 years I've been using the 2 piece Coloplast system. I always give my bag a tug after I reattach it just to make sure it's on right.

I started using the Coloplast Sensure 2 piece this week. For some reason the Hollister bags I had been using decided they would leak about twice a day. I had these Coloplast samples so I used them. I also used a Brava Mouldable ring. I've had this one on for a couple of days now so I took the bag off this morning to see how it looked. I had cut the wafer a little to big in one place and the Mouldable ring has filled that area in nicely. I love the way these bags drain, it is so much faster and easier. I'm using the convex wafer for the first time and I hope this works out for me.

Also I'm using the Sensure with the locking ring. It is on really tight and I believe as long as it is locked that bag isn't coming off without pulling the whole wafer off.
