Music has always helped me through things in life. With Crohn's it's no different.

I was wondering what songs people listen to that might remind them of Crohn's or at least a struggle in life. Something that helps you get through things. I'm looking to expand.

One of my favorite is Injection by Rise Against.

It's corny but I love belting out Katy Perry's Firework when I'm in a mood. Specifically the line:

Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road

I think Crohn's has just seemed to close so many doors for me since 2004 that this line is somewhat of a reassurance for me. There's a reason none of those doors worked out. Someday there will be one that really will be the perfect one for me and not even stupid Crohn's can slam it for me : )

Kenny Loggins- This Is It

Oingo Boingo - Try to Believe
Oingo Boingo - Out of Control

These songs have gotten me through some of my darkest days in my life with Crohn's Disease.

Nearly bled to death 4 times while in the hospital last year.

I really like Anouk and the song Margarita Chum. (not allowed to post urls..)
She is a dutch singer and I just like the sound of the cd this song is from.

i love to listen to music to help me cope some helps me to calm down i posted my fav song i listen to it all the time its called i wont let go click the youtube link it will take you right to the song

I like Perfect by Pink andHedley aslo does a song called Perfect. Actually the Cd called " The Show Must Go On " by Hedley is awesome. I also like Adele and Mumford and Sons.

I like chill out music, slightly spiritual.

Two albums by Wah! spring to mind: Maa and Jai Jai Jai.

It's either that or Anastacia's sick and tired

I love film scores.

My all-time favourite score (wrongfully robbed of an Oscar just because the film itself suffered some bad reviews - no justice! lol) is James Newton Howard's score to 'The Village'. It's absolutely stunning and I find it quite cathartic for some reason, even though it's pretty melancholy. I dunno, I think it just makes all my emotions come out (he said sheepishly haha).

Here's one of the tracks:

It's just so.... there are no words. Right. I'm done gushing ;).

That remind me of Crohn's?

Weighty Ghost by Wintersleep
It's Only Pain by Katie Melua

The soundtrack from "A Beautiful Mind" is pretty good. I also like to listen to the 40s station and Radio Classics on Sirius. I wish Classics would stream on my iPhone/Internet but for some reason it doesn't. :(

No I suspect it's a licensing thing with the vendor of the Radio Classics content. I don't think it's only my account.

'If only I can get through this
If only I can get through this
If only I can get through this

I gotta get through this
I gotta get through this
I gotta make it, gotta make it, gotta make it through
Said I'm gonna get through this
Im gonna get through this
I gotta take my, take my mind off you (Crohn's)'

Lollllllll ;)

Wow Ian. Love it. Check out the door in the floor soundtrack by marcelo zarvos. Very moving.

Almost anything by the Smiths, and Placebo isn't bad either, sort of a spiritual successor for us younger folk. ;-)

lol muppet!
you posted the same time as me!

Anything by the Smiths cheers me up no end! I love them

Actually I was replying to you. :) I've been camping on the "New Post" list this morning. Boston trip for me and Sarah tomorrow and I'm in a Crohn's Forum sort of mindset.

It's under warranty it will work out. If we have to cancel/reschedule Boston, so be it. Sarah is stable on Prednisone for now and the visit is more about them being able to bill after a long spate of non-billable phone consults than anything else, in my opinion.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who turns to Lifehouse :)...then again, they are my favourite band so I'm a bit biased :p. But even if they weren't, like I said, story of my life!

Everyone has a favorite band that tells their life story. I usually get angry with things, so mine usually flops between the rockers that let me scream my lungs out. :) Need a break sometimes though, and Lifehouse has never done my wrong!

Crazy Girl was good too. Never heard that song before. For the record, it has been stolen, and facebooked. :D
