Just a suggestion... I'm really pissed right now. Its Crohn's related I'm sick and tired of trying to get my husband to understand.... DAMN!!!
He was nice enough to keep track of my shot dates and I thought it was due today, he has listened to me worry over the last few days about taking the shot today because I was sick. Never once did he interrupt and say (no don't worry its not due till Wednesday.) He let me go on about it. Then he says I just figured you were trying to take it early and he couldn't figure out why I would do that but again he never said anything. he just wanted to argue with me about it and make me feel stupid like I cant remember anything. I bet I can remember to tell him to kiss my Arse. I am now keeping track myself (Jerk!!!):mad2: I also have a problem taking Tramidol it makes me nauseated. He had the nerve to ask the pharmacist if it was just in my head or can it really make people sick. Grrrrr!!!!

Sorry for the vent I had to let it out.

Hi Cleuger :)

I'm sorry you're having such a bad day !

There is a venting forum if you just click the blue link :)
You'll see you're not alone :rosette2:

:ylol:I understand totally I get the same bs from my spouse but we all know what your going through so stay strong and don't let it bother you. We can't help what they don't understand, this disease is horrible but we can and will overcome it and all the bs we have to put up with.

cleuger.

I will move your thread to the Vent Away forum. I will change the thread title to your original post title.

as he should! Mine doesn't either and its been pretty hard around here lately .

I hope you feel better soon!

If Tramidol is making you nauseated, can't your doctor prescribe an alternative? Maybe Vicodin or Percocet? What good is a pain med that you can't take because it makes you feel sick?

I'm sorry you're feeling so frustrated and hope it gets better for you soon.

I don't normally take the Tramadol but a few weeks ago I decided I could lift a bed by myself (stupid girl) and pulled my back pretty good. I did a take a few Tramadol since I had them on hand and I needed to work. They make me nauseated to the point I want to Vomit ugggg. I don't normally like to take pain meds If I can help it. I did got to my regular MD yesterday for the joint pain Ive started to experience and he told me to eat when I take it to see if that helps.

thanks for your support

A lot of meds can make you nauseated, especially when taken on an empty stomach. I normally try to drink some milk, kefir or eat some yogurt before taking any type of med, but many who suffer from Crohn's don't tolerate dairy very well.

If it happens again, maybe you could let your doctor know that you're still experiencing nausea regardless, and request a different pain med. Nausea is a known, and very common, side effect of Tramadol, regardless of whether you eat first or not. Sometimes you just have to get a little insistent to convince doctors of the seriousness of the problem.

I wish you the best!

Sorry your hubby is not being to understanding. I mean to ask a pharmacist if a side effect is in your head is outrageous! By the way, tramadol can effect the gut. I was taking a few years ago due my severe bladder pain and it would cause my intestines to really cramp up so I had to stop taking it. So yeah, any drug has the potential for side effects! I mean actually most drugs WILL give you some sort of side effect.

I was just prescribed Tramadol for fibromyalgia and arthritis and I have crohns as well. So does it help the cramps from crohn's? I haven't gotten it yet. She is calling the pharmacy for me . Is Tramadol a good drug for pain? I can't take nsaids due to kidney problems?

I don't have crohns cramps but it does help joint aches I can't take NSAID orders from GI doc and I refuse to take any kind of controlled pained Meds but my only issue is the occasional nausea with them but everyone is different

Thanx Cleuger, noone seems to know about it. I hope it helps the joint pain, that would be awesome. Especially in my hands and arms and (well everywhere just about!).I am in a flare right now, so I hope it helps that too.

:frown: I, too, understand what you are going through. My husband attempts to be understanding, but I do not think that he has ANY idea of the pain and suffering that I go through. He had Tramadol for a while, due to back pain, and I found it very helpful for the joint pain that I feel, but it did not make me sick. However, the medication that I am now taking, Cimzia, seems to make things worse. I take it once a month, and 3 weeks out of the month, I seem to be more nauseated and experience lack of appetitte. Towards the end of the month, like a week before my next dose, I feel better. Unfortunately, I have no insurance and am on patient assistance for the shots, so I am unable to contact my doctor for alternatives. People that care about us in our lives seem to understand, but I do not think that they can possibly understand completely. I feel your frustration.

Hi sizzlesteph.
I'm so sorry you are suffering and nothing can be done to change your meds. Are you sure, absolutely sure you can't request a change? I would try anything if I could. I wish I knew how to help you! Maybe next time you get a shot, ask them then.

I would request a change in meds, but that would require going to the doctor and paying out of pocket, as I have no insurance. However, maybe a phone call to the doctor would produce results, I doubt it, but it's worth a try. Thanks.

That is a good idea and I would If it were me. In fact I did call mine for that very reason because the neurontin my rheumy put me on did not agree with me at all. So she is switching to tramadol. I hope you get your wish!!!

I'm sorry your having a hard time with your meds. I feel like crap complaining about myself when there are others that are worse off I'm so sorry. I also take Cimzia, for me its a life saver. I just had another dose this evening. Your so right he acts like he understands but there is absolutely no way he ever will truly unless he walks in my shoes
