Hi I'm new to the forum!
That being so I'm not exactly new to Crohns - I've had it for about 3 years. Anyways I have this HORRIBLE anal fissure that will not go away but I'm not sure it's Crohns related or just something I've happened to develop.
My Crohns was initially in the area where the small & large intestine met but around 3 months ago I was under a lot of prolonged emotional stress & I had a bad diet (eating fried chicken tenders, various lemonades, deli meat sandwiches, & sugar cookies). One night I had a very hard/painful bowel movement and I initially felt the pain right then. I thought it was a hemorrhoid or two and it stopped being painful after a couple of weeks. This stress caused my Crohns area to become too constricted and I had a bowel resection. I was healed and all better! But with the resection I had constant loose stools and that seemed to open up the wound again & I was in more pain than EVER. I had a fistula/infection removed and they put me on flagyll & cipro (sp?). It's been 4 weeks and it hasn't gone away or feel any better.
They said it may be the Crohns coming back in the peri-anal area so they're going to up my dosage of Remicade (I've been taking that since I was diagnosed) to see if it will do the trick.
I'm so sad and scared. Does this sound like Crohns!?
I've looked up how "normal" people get fissures & it's exactly how I got mine how could this be Crohns and not just a normal deep fissure?
