Hi folks

I know Jerermy Clarkson made it distinctly uncool for the middle age man to wear levi's. However, i want to! problem is most denims have a waist band that goes straight across my stoma, making them impossible to wear. Question is does anyone know of any denim jeans that have a relatively high waist band thereby making me very happy!
Best wishes.

I don't have a stoma, but once wore Arizona brand jeans and found the waist to be a bit thinner and higher. I believe they are either the Sears or jcpenny store brand.

I'm quite lucky, in that my stoma is a little lower than yours so I can wear normal and low rise jeans.

Some I have do have higher waists than those that are in fashion at the moment, but woudl have been regarded as regular jeans back in the past. Seeing as you are UK based like me places like Debenhams, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer as well as Matalan might be a good place to start looking. The more fashionable places tend to have just low-rise jeans only at the moment and the "'skinny" or "carrot" fit look that makes people like me in my mid thirties looking like a right twonk! :)

I have no idea what a 'twonk' is, but I can make a few guesses in my head. "Twonk"...hee.

Tay, have you tried the Levi's 560's? They're a bit higher waisted and I don't think you'd look the least bit "twonky". Is twonky a word?

Ok, I found this website and about half way down the page are some trouser adjusters.

It looks like the best invention ever for people with a stoma! The girl whose website it is says they are on sale in the Netherlands but no idea if you can buy them elsewhere. I want one!

Cheers guys - deffo have a look at the Levi 560's. Thanks for the link Michelle.
For interest have you checked out Jessica Grossman web site - what an inspiration!
Yours in a trance.

Hi tay, this message wont be suitible for you, but like you I have terrible problems trying to find jeans but for all the ladies out there with this problem I have now found that maternity jeans are great for women with a stoma as they are elasticated and dont squash everything.

When my Crohns was bad and my gut very painful, I found that maternity overalls were marvellous. There was no pressure anywhere at all - and some of them were quite stylish!
