Long story short my current GI doctor left the practice and I need to find a new GI in my area. (The one taking over her cases I do not like. She wanted to completely stop all treatment for me and believes I do not have Crohn's disease as I do not have the typical symptoms of a Crohn's patient. I told her I am atypical but she does not believe me.) When I first presented I was malnutrition, underweight and could barely eat anything. I did not have diarrhea or any vomiting but lots of nausea and stomach pain.

I have all my lab results for the past year and copies of my two Colonoscopies. 1. indicating inflammation diagnosing me with Crohn's disease. 2. the second colonoscopy stating I am in clinical remission after being put on Humira.

I am missing a handful of doctor notes from my many visits to the GI. Out of about 10-15 visits I only have about 5 office visit notes. This is what the practice forwarded me after requesting my complete file.

How important are the doctor notes vs. the lab results for the new GI to review. I don't want to start an argument with my current doctor as I need them to continue to treat me and authorize my Humira until I can get in to see a new doctor which is looking like at least July/August. Trying to play nice and not let them know I am looking for a new doctor.

Thanks for any feedback and my semi-vent.

I'm on my third doctor. The first one had a heart attack and retired, the second one moved to a different city. In my experience at least, the new doctors wanted to start from scratch and do their own colonoscopies and tests. They all had different treatment methods. The first one treated from bottom up (medications), the second one top down. My third one is very much into diet along with medication.

Thanks for the info. MY old GI did Top down and I like that method. I am hoping one of the two I am going to for a consult will have the same treatment plan.

I'm ignorant and don't know what top down and bottom up mean.

I have only once bought any paperwork to a new GI doctor. Doctors generally want to start from scratch. My current GI ordered stool.sample tests, blood tests, CT Scan and Colonoscopy/Endoscopy. It was pretty thorough.
Hope you find out what your true diagnosis is soon.
Stay Strong.
