I am on pentasa. Have been since I was diagnosed in 2002. I have had no surgery but several courses of steroids. I also have had a very serious case of fourniers gangrene resulting in numerous ops and I'm told on good authority this may have had a connection with my crohns. My GI has warned me about the possible need to move to azathioprine and indeed my last test showed inflammation. I have found that eating as much as possible whilst flaring up, mostly rice, white bread and steak has staved off a full on flare up every time. Does anyone else do this?
