Does anyone else also get gas? I do not mean a bit of wind. I mean unremitting nonstop blasts that make it so you cannot be around people?

No matter what I eat or how little, it's so bad, my stomach actually bloats. I have people ask if I were pregnant.

It's awful and if I eat a thing other than rice, it's explosive.

I know this sounds funny, but it's not. I guess it is a little bit. When I talked to the Dr, she did the usual rant- no fizz, stress, low gas food. I can drink WATER and get it!! She thought it was what like normal people get . This is OMG what has died inside you??!! And it does not stop. :eek2:

Have you been tested for H. pylori? All this can happen with IBD, of course, but bloating and excessive gas can also be caused by H. pylori.

I never used to be a gassy person until Crohns came on the scene, just before I was diagnosed I could have won a gold medal if it had been an Olympic sport! It was quite shocking :) and I thought ladies didn't do that sort of thing lol :), it has calmed down somewhat since my tummy has settled but I do get very bloated and sore after eating and have to undo my trousers and give the tum some room, and then guess what happens? I was wondering how are your general symptoms at the minute, are you in flare right now and if this problem is always happening? Sorry for so many questions. Do you have an IBD nurse that you could maybe call who might be a bit more responsive to your troubles?

I really hope you that can get some relief very soon, best wishes and big hugs. :ghug:

Thanks for the hugs and the response! Yes I would be on that podium right with you. It is terrible.

I have a lot of pain and feel terrible right now. I have a Dr that is helping but no Dx because I am not going through anymore tests. I have had enough.

It hurts so bad because I had to go off my one safe food- rice. I lived off rice cakes so much that I actually started to get signs of heavy metal arsenic chronic toxicity and took metal tests!

I had crinkling of hands, rash, thyroid tanked, and other problems. There is a LOT of arsenic ni rice and it was all I could eat. Life was good then!

Now it is all pain because I have to reintroduce foods and cannot tell which are safe or not. I even had anaphylaxic and got an epipen!!

Monofoods can make you really sick when you have to go off them.

Well, thanks for the reply and i will update as things progress.

PS- yes, I was tested for Hpylori---thank goodness negative!

I was wondering about your diet and if there was anything at all that you could tolerate? Have you had an opportunity to talk with a dietitian to see if there were any alternatives that you could try? I am sorry that this is so bad, wish I could give you a proper hug :)

I would definitely suggest keeping a food and symptom diary, this helped me identify trigger foods, I know it's a bit of a chore but it can help. Wish I could offer something more helpful. Good luck with it all. :ghug:

I think gas is often related to diet. I have more intestinal gas and foul smelling stool that stinks up the house for a long time. I don't have an issue with farting too much though.

NoGutsNoGlory- Hee. What a great name!

Yes, I am going to an allergist in June. I am afraid to eat anything now.

I am sure it is the contaminated food supply. I read that there are a lot more food allergies out of the blue and some say it could be the genetic modification we have allowed in our food.

In USA, they have them in foods and NO LABEL. Good lord. And we wonder why people are getting sick. In fact, it is in the guts of people:

Does this mean Monsanto will stop? Haha. Their CEO has been quoted to say he eats organic. I do not know i f that is true or not, but it's pretty rich, I would say.

They THOUGHT these genes brown down in the gut but they are finding that NOPE, they are still there and being passed to the kids.

No wonder we are getting a proliferation of illnesses.

I had bloating like this leading up to my blockage, GP never took it seriously. Are you vomiting? When it was bad my husband would rub my tummy until the air made its way out... it eased the pressure sime

I pass gas ALL DAY LONG. I share an office and when my co-worker leaves for lunch I just expel and feel so much better. I don't have any smell just gas. It seems to start at about 10am and does not stop until 3pm. I get so bloated too. Isn't crohns fun?

Okrad -- I take gasx (simethicone) after I eat; it helps a lot! You still have the gas, but it's easier to pass and the bloating is not as bad. Like you, I would get so bloated I looked pregnant!

I have phases of constant extreme gas (it's very explosive when it comes out... too much info? :D ) I'm pretty sure it's linked to drinking milk... whenever I don't have milk my gas is much more relaxed :)

You get a double whammy with some diseases. There's the usual physical pain and suffering and then there's the emotional pain of having a body that forces you to engage in anti-social behavior. It's like having 2 diseases in 1. :(
