Entocort and Constipation?

Hiya guys,

I was wondering if you could help me out on this one?

I've only recently been diagnosed with Crohns disease and I have been put onto Entocort, I have been taken 3x of this each morning for the about 3 and half weeks.

I have noticed a change and it has helped as I am used to just having diarrhoea and stomach pains with it but recently I have found that I have the urgent feeling to go to the toilet but it's hard to pass the stools and there like small pellets (sorry for being so crude lol ). I also have horrible tummy pain with it also which is causing me to have time off work as I just cannot concentrate with it.

I was wondering if you guys had any idea whether this is a side effect of the medication or if you have been through the same thing? I'm relatively new to all this

I've just started Entocort myself. I'm on day 3 and so far have had diarrhea and stomach pain with cramping. This may just all be my Crohn's symptoms. Had to take Pepto Bismal for the D. I'm hoping it all slows down!

For you, take some Miralax. You may just need a little help and it's gentle. There is nothing regular with this disease!!

Seconding the recommendation for Miralax! It really helps with constipation.

I've just been put on entocort too, same dose. For about 2 weeks now.
Have definitely noticed the constipation side of things but I'm not sure if it's because of the medicine or if I have a stricture. Having issues with my stoma at the moment and thought that was the cause, but the entocort could be the culprit. Definitely fits into the timeline... I will have to ask the doctor about it
