Was diagnosed with Crohn's in August of 2024. I've been on Low Dose Naltrexone (and experienced some improvement! but not quite enough) since then. Finally found the right doctor I trusted for treatment this November and started Entyvio in December.

I just hit the 8-week mark and I have had my first three loading doses... I've heard around 6 weeks people start feeling significant improvements. I am not really feeling any improvements?? Last week had blood in stool twice and haven't had that in like two months. Abdominal bloating is so incredibly uncomfortable & doesn't seem to have improved whatsoever since starting Entyvio.

My last scope showed active inflammation/disease in small intestine (terminal ileum, ileum).

Thoughts? Do I need to give it more time?? Meeting w/ my doc end of this month to discuss my progress.

Entyvio is slow acting and can take up to 12 months to work fully for some folks.
It works better in the large intestine than the small intestine.
Are you on bridge therapy ?

Not fully sure what bridge therapy is but I don't think so - this is my primary treatment plan. Dr had mentioned possibly stelara or skyrizi but we decided on entyvio since i had just moderate disease.

I did read it works better in the large intestine so will just continue to monitor symptoms & hope I improve! Tough to wait that long if it really does take 12 mos. Thanks for the thoughts!

Bridge therapy is steriods or een
This is used as a bridge to get you feeling better while you wait for the maintenance med -entyvio in your case to be fully effective
It prevents damage from getting worse .
Een is exclusive enteral nutrition (formula only no solid food )
Talk to your Gi about bridge therapy

It is disappointing not to see results after loading doses. More waiting might be in order. Since you have an appointment soon, mention all your symptoms and concerns which may lead to treatment or further testing. Their assessment may determine that further tests or a change in treatment is necessary.
