Hello,

Just on here for a bit of a rant really. In terms of the title, "Woeful" is my way of explaining when I have IBD like symptoms. I am sitting at my desk after going to bed at 9.30pm lastnight with stomach pains and now I am feeling v.sick, can't even think about food and my stomach feel weird. I am absolutely exhausted too, its not cool.

Still, a week till I go to see my Gastro specialist, I don't even have hight hopes for that:( Excuse the rant!

Sorry to hear you're feeling like that, Caz!
Woeful is a very good word... I spend many days at my desk feeling "woeful"... like very very tired and everything is just too much effort.... sometimes with the added feeling of being sick or about to poo myself!

Feel free to rant and share the woe!

Thank you Steve! I am currently feeling very sick. I feel like I could run to toilet and be sick but I am trying hard to just not think about it:( Thinking about getting home and going to bed!! If I am feeling bad I say I am absolutely woeful.....

If I feel really bad I stay at home... but I've obviously got quite a bad sick record and even though I think my employer is pretty good in this respect, I have been referred to Occupational Health (stressful... but outcome was OK)
Some days I don't feel bad enough to stay at home, but not really well enough to go to work... so I go in anyway and see how I get on... sometimes I perk up, and sometimes I don't, but I think... I've only got a few more hours to go then I'm going home anyway. It's a bit miserable really, and I'm only really working at half capacity some days!
Going to bed early helps, but it gets to the point where you just think you're working and sleeping... nothing else!
I think this has come up before, but when anyone at work asks me how I am, I usually reply: "fine"... it's just a nicety... I really want to say: "I feel cr*p, b*gger off!"
Now I'm ranting... oops!

Thanks guys, will try sipping drops of water. Tried to have a carton of apple juice but then had to run to loo to bring it up again:( Work have offered to drive me home (no buses run here!) but feel bad as I have been off so much........

Thank you Pen:) Nobody has given me any guidance on what to eat/drink (prob as I have no diagnosis) so I am incredibly confused. Just want to go home and sleep!

Sorry you are still not feeling well. When I am really nauseous/sick, Ensure helps me a lot. It gives me nutrients and it gives my stomach time to heal itself without food interrupting. I like the chocolate shake flavor, but it has some lactose in it (not sure if that bothers you). Hugs.

hope you're feeling better today Caz.

i sip very cold lemonade when i feel nauseous.. it helps me.

Ensure has never helped me. MAKES me throw up. But everyone is different.
I use peppermint oil. Hope you feel better! :(

I will look for Ensure over the weekend. I had a little rice lastnight which was ok but pains after it........that seems to be normal for me. Slept from 7pm to 11am this morning. Not in work but my boss said it would be ok, I didn't exactly do much yesterday. I even cried in front of workmates, all in all but the best few days!! Thank you for your support though esp as most of you are going through so much worse x

Thanks Pen, I will go and try and make some porridge just now....I love porridge and hadn't even thought about it helping x

I just used water there, don't think the general shoppers are ready to see me in my penguin pyjama's........although you do see a lot of pyjama clad people in Glasgow!! x
