Fevers - flare related?

Every afternoon I get a fever. It's never very high, the highest it will get is about 99.6, but I have a lower than average normal temp so it's not an insignificant elevation. The thing is, my flare hasn't been too bad. I wouldn't say it's gone, I still get some D and some bloody mucus once in awhile, but I'm not as sick as I was. I've already had mono so it's probably not that (though I suppose a relapse isn't out of the question). Should I ask my doc for some more blood work or is it safe to say that since my Crohn's is still mildly active it's probably just that? (This started when the flare started and has been going on since, about 3 weeks now.)

Ah yes I keep meaning to start taking my probiotics again. Thanks for the remind! I'll get right on it :)

I agree with Pen. My doc has told me the fever is a bit of bacteria that I am fighting off.

He said it happens at will, meaning not always when I feel like I am flaring.

The probiotics sound like a good thing to try, tho.

i always have a low feaver too, everytime they take my temp its always like 96 or 97 98.6 is "normal" wonder if its a crohns thing

I get fevers quite often. Ony in the 99's (99.1 to 99.6 usually). I've always had a lower temp, so when I'm not having a fever, my temp is 97.?. It's pretty common to have fevers with autoimmune disorders (still don't like the word disease) I guess. Low grade ones. When a doc asks about fevers, I tell him I often have fevers of 99.?, but that's normal for me. My general doc doesn't believe in autoimmune stuff I don't think, but we'll be confronting that next month when I go in for my yearly exam and if he continues his non-belief, I will take my autoimmune-ravaged body elsewhere. :)

Low fevers... happens at will... sounds like me!
I always have a large electric fan trained on me at work, even when everyone else is huddled next to the radiators in the middle of winter!

I just had a bad flare and my fever was a constant 101.4-101.9 Mine usually get this high when I am having flares, but it does treat people different.

I do get fevers frequently, as well. Usually only when I am flaring, and they;re usually low-grade (all around the 99.2-101 mark)... that's just what I notice is normal for me, if it got any higher than that, I would call my doctor. Since the prednisone seems to be working for me right now, my fevers have been fewer and farther between. I think it's safe to assume that your fevers are Crohn's related, AgB621... but keep an eye on it and report anything troublesome to your doc. (maybe keep a record of your temps to bring to your next appt)

In a flare I always run a low grade fever. I vaguely recall a doc saying it was indicator of disease activity and she made me monitor my temp when i got out of hospital. I was seeing a surgeon for a few weeks trying to figure out what the frik was wrong with me. By this time i was pretty crook. I went to see him in his office without an appointment and he put a thermometer in my mouth while he went to see another patient. He came back took it out and said 'Hospital now- I'll call an ambulance' I think he though my appendix was going to explode. if only it were that simple!:ylol2:

yup i get fevers almost always when flaring too. for me they are HIGH though.
101-103 depending on when i get the tylenol in me.
when i was younger i remember this awful spell where they were going above 104, just from the inflammation! gosh i dont miss those.

recently theyve been much lower, not above 100.5 and even that is rare.
