Hi all,

Am newly diagnosed following colonoscopy no 3 in October but only on visual as biopsies were clear as having crohns.

Since then I was put on pentasa 3g daily for 6 weeks whihc drove my stomach mad with gastritis and an ulcer developing.
Then on questran which also did not agree.

So now I am taking zoton at night for my stomach and nothign else until I meet a specialist. I got an app for Feb 10th so thats great. Its my first visit so I suppose any words of wisdom and what to expect? Also any reccomendation of what to ask etc while I am there?

Thanks in advance.

As you think of questions write them down.
Find out as much as you can as to where your disease is located
...I recommend you check out the treatment thread so you can have some familiarity with all the available meds.

Good luck Minky...If things get worse call and see if you can get in sooner.

When i went to mine i had a HUGE list, symptoms, things i've tried, what they did, etc.....As someone suggested, i would deffinately write out questions as you think of them, as well as exactly what symptoms the meds you tried caused

Good luck Minky. I hope all goes well for you there and you get a great doctor. Its alwasys nice to know that your starting to get somewhere and that appointment will help.

If you haven't already ask to see a nutritionist. I don't know if you need a referral to get that counseling as part of your treatment or not, but I think it is one of the most important aspects of dealing with this disease. Not in that it cures Crohns or anything like that. It wont. But diet and nutrition are closely linked to this disease and it is one of the few things that we as individuals can do anything about.

Thanks for all the replies. Must get cracking now with my questions and what I have tried etc. Great too about asking about a nutrionist. Its just I am waiting so long and prob wont get an app for months again so want to cover everything. Thanks.
