Flare ups & Monthly Cycle

Ladies, do you find you have flare ups just before or after your monthly?

Yes, I always had a few bad days right before my period. I've started taking the mini-pill (Cerazette) so now I don't have a monthly cycle, which is fine with me and now I don't have the monthly crap days!

Yes from the first day to about day 3 today is day 3rd then a after mucous loss I get pain again...Vicious cycle. Have had extremely bad pains at that time since I was 14... where the hell is menopause?:shifty:

Did you doctor state why the 2 are connected? I have to go back to see my doctor and had a bad flare 4 days before my cycle started. Not sure why this happens.

It is sought to be hormones and I still think it is part of the cure of this disease. When your body swells from your cycle, every else does too. Rats.

I'm not sure why this happens, but it seems to be a pretty common trend among us. There have been several threads about this, and it seems that lots of women get the same things. My doctor gave me the patch, and I only have a period every 3 months, which is nice because I don't have to go through that month after month.

I had a tubal ligation almost 10 years and use no firm of contraceptive. Do you find oral contraceptives help? I'm 35 years old and I smoke. I would have to quit (I need to anyway).

I haven't been on any oral contraceptives, so I can't help you there. I'm on ortho evra. Just slap the patch on my arse once a week and every 12 weeks leave it off for a week to have a period! LOL

I am guessing the patch would be similar to oral as it has the hormones in it. Does it help you?
