hey, so ive been recently diagnosed and since ive started all the meds and such, i havent had my period. Is that something that comes with crohns or the medication or could it be something else? just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, what medication are you on? And have you been checked for anemia?
I have only had 4 periods since my diagnosis in March - so about one per 2 months - and every time I miss one I worry! I never really got an answer as to why it happens but the doctors have mentioned it could be a combination of being anemic (which I no longer am) and the stress of the illness.

If you are worried though, just mention it to your doctor at your next appointment/give them a ring and they should be able to give you a bit of a better answer

I talked to my doctor and he didnt seem too worried about it. i was anemic and just got blood tests to see if that is still the case. After talking to some people and my doctor i agree that it is probably just the stress and everything. Thanks for the info and hope you are well too!

I have experienced the same thing. On prednisone, it messed up my hormonal balance causing my period to skip. I got worried because at the same time a lot of other things have been happening so my Mom thought I might have had a tumor.

Yea, I talked to my doctor and he didnt say much about it. my mom was just worried because if it affected future stuff. Hey im not complaining! not like i want that to be another thing to worry about throughout the day. haha

When ever I'm in a flair my period stops... No idea why. But hey, one less thing to worry about, right?

is it when you are taking steroids? they can mess up your period.

I haven't had my period for years now :/ but most of that time I've been flaring and I'm always teetering on being underweight so that's probably why. I know it's great to not have it but it makes me really depressed because I haven't grown either and I just feel like I'm going to start regressing back into childhood. Argh.

Right after I was first diagnosed, I skipped my period for about six months. My doc said it was from all of the stress my body was under, and because I was so sick. Even now, though, my periods are very light.
