OK. So, I received a diagnosis from three different doctors that I have Colitis.

They aren't sure what kind, or what has caused it yet, but . . .it is definitely an inflammatory process.

FINALLY! Someone gave me some prednisone to have on hand as well as some pain meds in case I have a flare up. I was told to only take them when I am in pain. You know, just for now until we figure out more.

I'm going to try and see a nutritionist here soon. Right now, I'm drinking a lot of Ensure, eating soup, exercising at a gym, and eating what I am able to, but I KNOW I'm not getting enough calories or enough protein to keep that aspect of myself in good shape. So, I want to learn what I can do to compensate for that stuff.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and give you an update. Thanks for letting me share.

Happy New Year,
Jami Lea :ycool:

That's great news. I'm so please for you!
I'm also a little jealous ;) (still no real diagnosis even though my GI believes it's CD)
I hope the meds kick in soon and help you to feel better

Congrats, Jami Lea!! So glad to hear you finally have a name for your illness and are starting a plan of action! I am with Sam, I'm a little jealous too. Still undiagnosed myself although IBD is the general thought (my GI thinks either Crohn's or microscopic colitis are likely).

If I'm remembering correctly, you have MS as well, right? Or are your MS-like symptoms all being caused by your colitis?

Fab news Jamilea!
Now you have a name for all your troubles, at last!

That is fantastic news, so pleased you can finally name names. I feel I am getting closer too, Colonoscopy biopsy results Monday and Barium Follow Through 2nd Feb. Since inflammation has already been found with a WBC scan I know it will be found again and I have high hopes!

Well, I guess they still don't know what's causing it, and they don't know if it's ulcerative or not.

Can stress cause it?

Oh because my dad definitely insinuated such a thing. I just got out of a very bad marriage. I won't go into it, but a lot of people keep telling me that my health issues are probably due to what he put me through. I just don't see how that would cause inflammation in my colon, and brain lesions lolol

I know I should just listen to what the doctors say, but I can't help it when everyone keeps saying those things to me. I don't know why they can't get it in their heads that I'm sick, and there is no cure for it.
