Ok, this is just going to be grumbly.
Why oh why?? I mean, really, I have a life to lead. Thankyou so much stupid disease for getting in the way. I'm generally good, only eat god foods, keep fit, don't over-do it. Why??
I've done 1 day of work this year. Hospital twice, 17 days in total. Been in flare for 3 months. The docs are saying my current status is not crohns, suggestion is it's IBS but they don't really know. It seems they are just throwing random meds at me in the vain hope it's going to do something useful. Symptoms- nausea, lack of appetite, not eating much-when I do it hurts, pain upper right, mucus and blood with poop. Oh btw GI, the pain doesn't go away when I poop.
My bloods are always normal, MRI normal, but I'm still in this position. Why can't they just treat me with something useful? Paracetamol are not suddenly going to take away the bleeding!!
I'm sooooooooooo sick of this already, yes, I am desperate to go back to work :(
Sorry for the negative and grumbly post, I just feel rubbish today

Good morning Monkey,
First I have to tell you that I smile everytime you post. Monkey is my daughter's nickname. She is off and about with her career and I only get to see my Monkey a few days every year.

I have absolutely no sage wisdom to throw your way. I just have hugs and nods of understanding.

Hugs,
Wendy

Hey Monkey! Sorry to hear you are really feeling crummy!

What about getting a 2nd opinion from another doc? Sometimes it seems like certain docs are more willing to explore and investigate than others. Have you thought about finding another doc? Maybe take a friend with you to your next appointment. For some reason some doctors are willing to do more when there's another person there to help advocate for you.

Hang in there! This disease is tough! But you don't have to do it alone :)

Hi Monkey - There are lots of folks on here that have gone a long time without an official diagnosis, and had test after test come back normal, even though they suffer a full range of symptoms.

One of the many things you will see over and over on this forum is that IBS does NOT come with bloody stools! If you are seeing blood, it must be some sort of IBD.

Stick to your guns - keep after your docs to get more tests and explore other treatment options.

Hang in there - sometimes these things take a long time to figure out.

- amy
