Handicap Parking?

I never thought I'd need a special parking permit, but something came up today which made me think it might not be such a bad idea. I had to bring something back to the mall. Not exchange, just drop it off. I figured it is far enough away from Christmas that I should be able to find a parking space (I don't care if it is close, I just needed to park). However, as I was getting to the mall, I realized I had to go to the bathroom. RIGHT AWAY. There was no parking to be found anywhere. I had to keep circling and circling waiting to find someone leaving. I made it to the bathroom in time, but it made me wonder. Does anyone here have a handicap parking permit? I doubt I'd use it all the time, but just when I need to go to the bathroom right away. I have an "I can't wait" card, but that doesn't help if I can't park the car.

If there isn't one then there should be!! I think one way it can be looked at is some people with crohns get joint pain, now if this is flaring up you don't really want to be walking half a mile to the shops when your knees are screamng at you......

I agree. There is no way I would be able to run to the loo with my knees the way they are. I can barely make it up and down my stairs.
I would look into it if I were you. I dont drive so cant offer any advice.
Got nothing to loose.

Huh. This had never occurred to me. There have definitely been times where I've had accidents while parking. Although maybe I wouldn't have made it anyway. I don't think crapping your pants would qualify you as disabled though. I konw if I had one I would only use it when I needed it, but I'm sure there are some people who would totally abuse it just 'cause they had one.

I have one in Australia and use it all the time as my bowels always mysteriously want to open when I get to the shops also I have arthritis so it helps with the walk to the shops.
