I have had HORRIBLE tension in my upper back, neck , shoulders and head. I am taking Advil cause it helps a little. Just wondering what everyone else takes.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My GI told me a long time ago Advil, Aleve, Aspirin are all No No's with IBD. The only thing he said I should take OTC is Tylenol.

If you can get to a massage therapist, they can do wonders for tension. Unfortunately Tylenal is all we can tolerate. The other mentioned drugs will irritate your guts.

I've always been told no advil, aleve etc and if I had to take something to take some tylenol. Hope you feel better soon!

Yep, Advil will rip your tummy up - stick to the absolute least amount of Tylenol you need - because I assume that you're on other meds that also tax the insides as well. Hot baths and the heating pad won't do any harm though! :)

Hiya Mary

Advil is an NSAID, don't take anymore!
I take 25mg Amitriptyline for neck, head, shoulder and back pain
It is a wonder drug, I'm sleeping better than I have done for years, it's keping me calm whilst on Pred too, I love it! Most importantly, I have no pain whatsoever!
Amitriptyline is an anti depressant in high doses, in lower doses it acts as a pain receptor by blocking out the nerves, or something like that, and it works!
