So now I wonder if every little ache and pain is crohns related. Sometimes I have problems with my feet hurting, mainly the bottom of my heels. Does anyone else experience this?
Thanks
both of my feet feel like they've been crushed. sometimes it's so bad i wish i had a cane or a walker to get around. I had to get special orthotics, that cost $500, thank goodness i have a really good medical plan at work.
I'm looking into the same thing Becky. I was being treated for gout when all this crohns stuff happened to me. Gout is swelling of joints due to uric acid in the blood. But recently my knees and ankles are swelling and hurt like the dickens. The GI specialty team I am dealing with says that there is a correlation with arthritis like joint problems as well as some other manifestations like a rash on my shins that leaves darker patches of skin when it recedes.
I was reading through this section last night wondering about the use of medications like IB Profin to control joint pain while taking the 5-ASA drugs for crohns treatment. I dint find anything yet though.
A friend of mine who has no health problems was having pain on the bottom of her heals. She thought maybe she was having heal spurs because she doesn't eat a lot of calcium. She tried calcium supplements and it helped??
I had bad heel pain (more in the backs of the heels) when I was on Remicade. Thumb pain also. Since I've been off Remicade, I've not had either at all.
