Hello everyone,
Sorry, I am kind of bad with introductions, but here goes nothing.
Its a pleasure to be here and to be around others who can understand what I am going through too.
My name is Aya, I am 21 years old and was diagnosed with Crohn's three years ago. Ever since my diagnosis I have been consistently treated by two wonderful GI doctors because of flares, anemia, stool troubles, and also have had two serious surgeries due to a occured/re-occuring formation of rectal prolapse.
Best wishes to all!:D

kisses, Aya

Dear Aya,
Welcome! I am MUCH older than you but was diagnosed when I was 19. So, I kinda get what you go through.
This forum has many smart (not me, unfortunately), supportive people that try to help you answer your questions or just lend an ear when you need one. The nice part about it is that you can lend one back if you want.
Just wanted to say hi,
Michele

Welcome, Aya! It is a pleasure to have you join us here on the forum! I am so happy to hear you have wonderful GI's. Some people find it is half the battle to find good care. Quality medical attention is key with CD, and I am glad you are getting some! How have you been feeling lately?

Hello,

Thank you very much for the warm welcomes, it is a pleasure to meet you both. :D
I have noticed that there are really nice members here, and will try my best to give advise if I can from my experiences. I am sorry you had to undergo such a hard disease as well so young.
I really do have great doctors and can't appreciate it enough as to how lucky I am of having them.
Thank you Jill, as of lately I am not doing too well. I have a flare that has been active since my second surgery last October, and am bleeding heavily despite my treatment of medication like immuran/pentasa/ferrograd and an injection of respilda consta every two weeks to calm my intestines. My doctor says she does not want to give me remicade because it can cause tumors after several years and she fears for my future, plus it would not help my current infection. So at the moment I am kind of helpless with my disease and do not know what to do. Otherwise, how are you?I hope all is well. :D

kisses, Aya

I am so sorry you aren't doing well. And since your current treatment isn't doing the trick, it may be time to step it up to remicade. I know it is a new option, but for some, it has given them their lives back! It has been a miracle for so many on here, and I know people off of the forum that sing its praises, as well. It's not good to let your disease just run its course. I know remicade may be scary, so take some time to check out the Remicade Club sub-forum under the Treatment forum. Lots of good info in there!

Welcome Aya.....sounds like you are going through a lot...hope things get sorted. Tehre is a Remicade thread if you want to check that out - I believe there are some 'youngsters' there (Am I allowed to say that as I'm almost 40? lol).....

What part of the world are you from?

i know how your feeling. same age and same basic problems as of right now. just getting over a flare. my pentasa and mercaptopurine seem to be working right now. not to the point id like but.... im sad to hear about surgeries ect. ive yet to need one done but it is one of my fears.
im also a new face on this site. maybe we can learn its ways together. :)

Once again thank you so much!
I have heard how wonderful remicade is and am researching it as of lately, I will check out the remicade section. Its just my doctor told me that it would not help heal my current infection because its not really the main infections in my ileum or colon that are causing the problem. Otherwise, my parents and I are debating whether to have a resection surgery done because my rectal prolapse is beginning again and I have an intestine that is 57cm longer than a normal intestine. My surgeon was debating to cut it when he did the surgery last year, but he did not. Now that I am bleeding still, we are thinking it might be best he just takes out that infected tract and it might help the prolapse from coming out too. I really do not know what to do.
Pasobuf, I am from Hungary, but have lived and grew up in the states for fifteen years and just came home when this disease started. I guess I can say I am a youngster.:)
Coryburnett, I am sorry for your problems, but hope you will get better too. We can learn together!<3

kisses, Aya

Hi Aya and welcome!

I hope you find lots of good information and new friends here. There are a lot of users that are around the same age as you.

Are you on an antibiotic currently? You mentioned that you have an infection.

I hope you get some relief soon. Maybe you can find something other than the Remicade to try in the meantime.

Good luck! - Amy

Welcome Aya!
I say it would be better to get your infection under control first, and then consider trying remicade. It can be dangerous to take remicade while you have an infection of any kind.
However, once you are doing a bit better, remicade is wonderful as a maintenance drug. I hope you are feeling better soon!

Hello hello!Thank you so much for the warm welcomes!<3
I am currently taking Imuran to help the infection but its not really working at the moment. My doctors don't know really what to do with me as of the moment because the infection doesn't really want to cooperate and I have literally tried almost everything except for remicade and such medications. :\
Thank you for all the help!!<3<3<3
