Hi everyone. This will be the first time I've ever engaged in an online forum for Crohn's disease - but at present I'm a bit desperate for help and finding my local health services are really beginning to let me down.
:sign0085:
Quick personal background:
- 26/y Male, 5' 7", heavier than I'd like (a bit of tummy padding). I think 86kg or something if memory serves. Room for improvement...
- Diagnosed 16 years ago, had 1 resection about 5 years ago (aziathiaprine, prednisolene etc didn't do the job). Was on Asacol most of my youth.
- Currently not on any medication for Crohn's
Current Problem:
7 days ago I found myself with the usual tummy pain, bit worse than normal, and realised I hadn't been for a few days. Began to notice I wasn't passing any wind, and began to assume a Partial Obstruction (not my first).
Was unable to keep my water down for most of this. Days of back and forth with my IBD team (mainly forth... less back), and seeing out of hours GP (completely useless, knew nothing of Crohn's and GOOGLED things in front of me).
Fast forward to today (day 7), I'm not really opening my bowels at all now, about 2 days ago I had very loose, frequent stools (was on lactulose and milk of magnesia, remember I was thinking partial obstruction back then). Now I've not past the impressive parcel I was expecting to, but I'm able to eat just a little, and drink now.
But the big problem is I'm not passing any wind, I have a constant bloated / painful feeling roughly where the small & large bowel meet, and constant and HORRIFIC nausea. It's debilitating. I cannot figure out what is wrong with me this time, it does not seem to be going anywhere on it's own, and I'm at a loss of how to help myself recover. I've been off of work all week now.
Perhaps someone has gone through something similar. Perhaps it's not my Crohn's (or wasn't, now is, and I've just got two problems back to back?). I'm desperate for some relief. I've tried peppermint tea, peppermint tablets, and a massage orb (vibration) to get the gas moving, but it just doesn't seem to relieve anything.
Thanks for any support. I'll move over to the introduction area when I'm feeling better.
