Help please !!!!!

I am in dier need of help, I have not had a bm in 8 days I've been to the hospital and was kept over night had xrays done had a fleet enema done drank peglite laxative had ct scan done and it shows I have a large amount of feces in the small intestine but no blockage I have no colon as it was taken out . I've been dronking metamucil and taking stool softeners the drs at the hospital didna rectal exam and there is no stool near my rectum it is all on my right side the drs said they can only control the pain as I am not able to get constipated as I have no colon. So here I am looking like I'm 6 months pregnant in a lot of pain and no desire to eat , anybody have any ideas ?:confused2:

Do you have a doctor you can call? Flight says is a long time, and no matter what you were told, you are either constipated or more likely have an instruction. You need to get this taken care of before it becomes a true medical emergency such as a perforation.

Is there another ER you can go to of you can't get your doctor, or I would go back to the ER and request a GI to consult on your condition.

I havent seen a gi yet not till august i dont have a family dr i just go to a walk in and the dr there is trying to help he put me on azathioprine but i cant take it cause it triggers severe migrains i know i will heading back to the hospital soon cause thisnpain keeps me awake i cant walk anywhere i can barely do house work even sitting up and typing this is killing mei can only lay down and imnsomewhat comfortable

I can't believe they would discharge you from the hospital after seeing that. I agree with the others - time to go back. This seems like it could be quite risky for you to continue with your normal activity in this condition.

Oh no, Darla Maybe you could ask about taking Linzess or Amitzia which should help your system move the stool through it? Otherwise it may be a good idea to go back to the hospital, because eight days is just too long and you're in so much pain.

I'm also wondering if you maybe need to get an MRI instead, if that could maybe show more...

I was really hoping tto get thru the summer with no hospital I spent the winter in there xmas new years I'm so tired I can't eat can't sleep . When I was in there they had to do 44 iv starts cause my viens were shot from all the Vanco they pumped into me finally the 2 weeks of my stay they put a pic line in I was attatched to a vac cause my woundopened I still have reinforcing sutures in me , I just got diagnosed in Decemer aafter the first surgery 4 days after that I was rrushed back in for emergency surgery, how could things turn around so fast.

Ok. Ty everyone for ur help and advice , after being on here I took more metamucil and doubled up on the laxatives along with what the hospital pumped into me the day before and I woke up at 3 this morning to the delightfulness of a bm and it has not stopped yet but that's ok I would rather it come out and be stuck at hhome than be in a hospital with them doing a bunch of tests , what I think happened is when I got pit on the prednisone and the. Other steriod it threw my system outta wack cause thinking about it now that I'm not in so much paiin and I can think , is pretty much when I stopped having bm's but I was only on the prednisone for 1 week and on the otther one longer till I realized it was creating flu like symptoms and massive migrains so I stopped taking that one . So in thr end I feel much better don't have much of an appetite. Yet but that is ok I can snack here and there

Oh, the prednisone and the Azathioprine! And oh gosh, I'm so relieved to hear you finally had a BM after all this time -- that must have been agonizing not being able to pass anything.

Maybe just stick to small meals and low-residue diet and meal supplement shakes for now until your body gets used to things again!

Hopefully now you can make it until your GI appointment, and tell them what happened and they'll know what to do to make sure it won't happen again. :hug:
