Just got a msg from Rady Childrens, looks like they have booked Miss Em for a HIDA scane. 90 min, and then a 30min followup with a needle.

Hows this going to go down? Has anyone done it?

My son (12 years) had the HIDA scan done two weeks ago. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before, they started an IV and injected the dye and he had to wait 20 minutes, then he was under the scan for about 45 minutes and I got to be in the room. We seen the results of his gall bladder right away and all was fine with him. Laying there and not moving is the hard part but she can sure take a nap if she wants. Good luck

:ymad:Someone tell me what in the sam hill is a HIDA scan?

I hope all goes well!:ghug:

A HIDA scan is an imaging procedure that helps track the production and flow of bile from your liver to your small intestine.

Supermom is right, laying still is the hardest part.
I had it done a couple years back and it showed my gallbladder was only functioning at 14%, when all other tests previous said it was fine.

Best of luck !

Well, test was okay. But it ended with a call from metabolic booking a 60min appointment in May. So maybe not so good?
