Holiday Weekend and no one to call

Ok I have now decided I hate holiday weekends. My husband started having pain last night. It seems to be getting worse today even though he has not ate anything. I have no idea what to do. He says he can tell its a C attack. Usually when this happens we call the doctor, go in and they put him on steriods. After a few days it helps. Of course it a holiday weekend and we can't do that. His doctor always makes me feel like I am over reacting.
I just wish there were some kind of guidelines to know what is happening. I hate watching my husband like this! How am I supposed to know if the pain is something serious or just an attack that needs mild foods? Ugggg I have never felt so helpless.

Hi Cara
If his symptoms are so concerning then you should go to the ER.
No one should be left in such pain and discomfort.
Hugs and best wishes

I hope you were able to get some help for your husband. As far as over reacting...don't back down from it. My husband goes in with me to every appt that he can. He's gotten pretty insistant and even a bit bossy with my doctor at one point because she wasn't listening. We don't always say so, but it sure is nice having our spouses and family members that will stand up for/with us:) Take care. Lisa

I agree with cross stitch...it's helpful to have a spouse stand behind you when you're feeling that crummy. I'm sorry that your husband is so sick. If it gets bad I would take him to the ER rather than wait for The office to open again. There's no sense for him to be in that much pain. It's better to err on the side of caution than possibly delay treatment for something serious. I know when I feel really bad it's nice when my husband speaks up for me and explains how bad I'm feeling and makes sure I get the help I need. Your husband is lucky to have you behind me. Don't worry about what anyone thinks. You obviously care about him and you have every right to be concerned. I'm sorry it's so tough for you guys and I hope he gets some relief soon

Thanks for all your responses! I did end up taking him to the ER. He got so bad he finally agreed to go. My husband is usually very stubborn about it, he feels as if he should be able to handle it. So I knew as soon as he asked to go it was bad.
I am glad you all told me to stand up for him because when I got home late last night I was so frustrated. The ER doctor was great, they did a cat scan and saw the inflamation was really bad. The GI on call never came in but he said that he wanted to rule out some kind of bacterial infection before he gave him any steriods or antibiotic? So they admitted him. The internal medicine doctor that was there came in the room, looked at my husband and said "So, I hear you have a tummy ache". Well I came a little unglued. The only time I have seen my husband in this kind of pain was the only other time we ended up in the ER and he was diagnosed with CD after a week in the hospital. The doctor told me if I would have waited another hour he would not have made it. His leakage was so bad that he was full of infection. So when the doctor said that to him last night I explained that and he told me I should not be so overprotective. Really??? Anyway after a little argument about pain meds he finally started listening to me a little.
I am heading back up to the hospital in a little bit to see a GI doctor that is on call for my husbands regular doctor. Thank Goodness! I guess I am finally started to realize that sometimes I may need to get pushy. I am not a pushy person but I cannot stand to see my husband like that.
Again thank you all, I am glad I got to hear from people that understand. I talked to my family but I don't think they quite get it.
