I'm curious how many supplements everyone here takes, what kind, and if you feel they help or not.

I personally only take one right now. It contains Bromelain and stinging nettles.

At one point I was taking:

Multi Vitamin
Tumeric
Psyllium Husk
Slippery Elm
Salmon Oil
Flax oil

I really don't know that they helped. Didn't hurt though :) Well, except the pocket book.

I take a lot! I always take a multivitamin, because I can't eat much fruit and veg, and I'm concerned I might miss out on some things. And omega 3 fish oils, because they supposedly help with inflammation, including eczema. At the moment I'm also taking vit D, because I do feel so much better on sunny days. I'm also trialling b12 again to see if it makes a difference to my energy levels. And I'm taking evening primrose oil for eczema. They don't cost too much- I always get pharmacy own brands rather than health shop ones, since it's hard to tell how much vitamin is actually in the product (even expensive brands may not contain what they claim) I may as well buy cheap and expect cheap! (I generally take twice the dose recommended)

As for whether they work, the evening primrose is definately helping my eczema. Before taking it I had a really bad scalp, no shampoo would help and I could literally peel off lumps of skin (ewww). Now it is just like regular dandruff. Not sure about the other supplements, but they're not making anything worse!

Multivitamin-a prenatal formula with ginger (and no, I'm not pregnant!)
Vitamin D 1000 iu
Rhodiola Rosea 340 mg
Co-Q-10 800 mg
Biotin 1000 mg
Acai 1000 mg

I take the multi to make up for my crummy diet, the ginger in it also helps to soothe my stomach; the vitamin D is for joint pain from fibromyalgia; the Rhodiola is for my anxiety and depression; Co-Q-10 and Acai are for antioxidants and heart health; and the biotin is because my hair was falling out like mad and I wanted it to stop!

Overall I am pretty pleased with everything, it seems to be working well. I am thinking of increasing the dose of the Rhodiola, but it seems to be working OK at this level too.
I got the Rhodiola from GNC, all the others are from Puritan's Pride. They often will have buy one-get two free/buy two-get four free sales and sometimes free shipping. You can order online or through their catalog. www.puritan.com I order my kids' vitamins from there too, chewables with iron. They also take a 1000 iui vitamin D supplement on their pediatrician's recommendation.

I mean to but I forget more often than not.

"MigRelief" (Feverfew, Magnesium, B2)
B12
Calcium
Vitamin D (D3)

Lol you put the choices 1-2,2-3,3-4. If someone was taking 2 they could vote for option two or three, if they were taking 3 they could vote for option three or four, so this isn't a very good poll, sorry just trying to help, not offend...

I take a million!! Well it feels like it anyway.
6 x high strength fish oils
2 x antioxidant, multi vitamin, multi mineral
1 x acai berry,
1 x Antioxidant plus,
5000mg Biotin
20ml Floradix,
1 x iron pill
vitmain C

Then the meds - Aza, Pentasa, Losec, and pain killers when required.

I can't believe I don't rattle

Heather, is Vitamin D for joint pain? I'm suffering from really sore and stiff joints and at this stage am not on anything for it.

Yes I do take it for joint pain, my Vit D levels have always tested good, but my rheumy thought it would be a good idea. Also, very little sunlight in the long sucky winters here in MN make it a necessity!
I take tramadol for the pain during the day and a muscle relaxer at night so I can sleep.

Thanks for the info on vit D. I stopped taking it when the sun was out longer. I will pick it up again and see what it does. They are little pills.
Multivitamin - 1
Calcium/Magnesium - 2500 mg - 6 horse pills
B12 - 2000 mg - two small pills 1000 mg ea
Glucosomine - 4500 mg - 6 pills

Meds
Pentasa - 4000 mg - 8 horse pills
Tylenol Extra strength - When the joint pain gets over 8 on the scale.

Tried to take Omega 3 oil, burped up salmon. Bleck, couldn't stomach it. Quit.d

Every time I drink water, I am chucking down another batch of pills.
Some days better at it than others.
