Is it possible to gain weight in between flare ups. I seemed to have noticed that I lose a fair bit of weight when I have symptoms such as joint pain, stomach pain, tiredness, feeling sick, rash etc. I feel like when the symptoms ease I feel like Im not losing weight, maybe put on a lb or so. Then again I have been drinking nutritional drinks like ensure etc.

Hiya smile

I'm like that too, flutuating weight, bloat, pants too tight, then too loose, flat belly, then back to lookin pregnant again, gainin a few pounds, then losing it again!
Ensure is quite calorific tho

It's good that you put on weight between flares, you need to put the weight on so you have some to lose in the next flare, otherwise you would waste away to nothing!

My dietician put me on Carnation Instant Breakfast. I tried it yesterday and it actually tasted good. If you can tolerate milk then you may want to try it. It tastes much better than ensure and boost. It just tastes like chocolate powder.

After 24 years of up and down weight with this disease, I have 3 sets of clothes.... normal..."sick" clothes... and "prednisone-eat-like-a-fat-cow" clothes...lol.

Not everyone will go through such gains and losses, but quite a few will. :)

There was about a stone difference between sick and pred munchie sizes. I just about fit into the same clothes, but I did have a lot of baggy clothes that I now fill out. Although I weigh less than when I had the munchies, I still have a bloated belly and still get asked if I am pregnant :(

Yes you can gain weight. I lost then gained 30 pounds both ways. Protein shakes seem to do it for me.
