So, I had a sinus infection a few weeks ago and got it cleared up with antibiotics, a day or so after antibiotics stopped I got a sore throat, dr did a swab and came back negative for strep, so he thought it was just end of sinus infection and a few days later throat was fine. A week later, my son gets a cold and a day or so later my throat is sore again. Is this normal for being on humira and imuran? This is my first winter being on humira weekly and imuran at the same time, how do I possibly control this?

It's very frustrating but it's the double immunosuppression that's causing more susceptibility. I suppose all one can do is eat healthy germ fighting foods, use purell etc whenever bathroom access isn't available and best to stay away from sick people. I also try to not touch my eyes, nose and mouth if my hands aren't clean.

The benefits far outweigh the sore throat, I think it has just surprised me, I didn't realize this would happen so quick. It's going to be a tough winter for me, I have a 5 year old at home and I am a teacher of young kids.

I'm also on Humira and 6mp, and I actually don't get sick very often! I've only ever been sick twice in the year since I've been on the combo. I really do think it just comes down to -- well, the individual first -- and then being really, really vigilant about germs.

Last winter with humira biweekly,I was never sick. I have been on the combo since July, this is the first time getting sick. I will admit, I have been very run down.
