Has anyone put on weight past a healthy amount while on Humira? I started Humira a month ago and my eating habits haven't changed but the scale keeps going up. I eat healthy foods and exercise. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same and if they have any advice on keeping the weight off. I'll be speaking to the doc about it next time I see him.

I have but I assumed it was the Prednisone I am still on.

I am up 25 pounds since my dx on Oct. 10th. I was at my perfect healthy weight the day I was dx'd so I had no need to gain or lose.

Would love to know what you find out!!!

It put me in remission so I am at my healthy weight, and occasionally above it due to the fact that I eat poorly and pig out sometimes :( But no, I would not blame Humira for excessive wight gain, just making me feel good enough to get myself to my typical wight.

hello, just joined so i thought i would share my experience.
I'm an ankylosing spondylitis suffer and I've been on Humira for the past 4 months. I've definitely noticed an increase in size and weight. I've been weight training for about 15yrs now and always had a fairly muscular physique(started the gym cause of the pain i was having , not knowing what i had i thought i have to keep moving making myself strong both physically and mentally). Prior to my injections I used to get only 4-5hrs sleep always waking up at least 5-10 times a night cause of the pain. But now I sleep 7-8hrs straight. Now my theory is since i've got a better sleeping pattern my body is able to grow better. In the "world of the gym" they say when you sleep well your body tends to grow, so, i thought this is the reason for my increase in weight & body size. Thankfully the size I put on looks good..look like a proper body builder..lol. Having said all that and having read various post on the internet, I'm now not sure if the weight & size is down to better sleeping . But you know what if, the weight remains the same its well worth it instead of living with chronic pain. Forgot to mention i put on 14lbs since the injections started & my eating pattern has been the same prior to the injections so am not over eating. I'm thinking of stopping the injections to see if the weight drops off but i don't think i wanna live with the pain.
(apologies if i rambled on a bit)

Since the humarai has gotten my Crohns under control I find I am putting on more weight due to actually absorbing the nutriets from the food. I was at 155 when I started Humarai 2.5 years ago. I was at my doctors Sat and my weight was 181

I was just researching this as well and came upon this. I am a personal trainer and like to do triathlons. I am almost a yr into Humira. I have noticed that My muscle tone is decreasing and fat % increasing. But weight has been about the same. I eat well and has been consistent. Also noticed the my "Drive" has not been the same for exercising or sex...Old age or Humira... (36yr old Male) Thoughts or suggestions?
