I have been recomended to go on humira and MTX. I know Abbot labs has a program for uninsured and unemployed. My question is has anyone gone through this process? Is this something that can be facilitated in the GI's office? Or is it mostly done on my own?

My GI appointment is this Monday and was wondering since I am still on 40mg of prednisone and haven't been tapred yet could this complicate things? What questions should I be prepared to ask other than the obvious with methotrexate and Humira being potentially dangerous drugs?

What personal information should I be prepared to bring to prove to Abbott that I am unemployed? I do get unemployment insurance, but will have to stop that soon to facilitate a Social Security claim. Any help is as always appriciated, if you guys can think of anything else I need to know please let me know.

Thanks in Advance, as any of you I am just tired of Crohns. :ymad:

I started Humira 10 days ago and I am also on prednisone taper down, so that's not a problem according to my new GI doc.
Been on a 6 month flair and on pred for most of that time.

Scaryman .. You have nothing yo worry about all you have to show is if you get unemployment.... and if you are not emplyed they will give you a 3 month supply and refer you to go get medicaid .....

Wow, ok that will work. Thanks so much, working the Social security angle. Not sure about medicare coverage with Humira. Should I bring anything else document wise with me to docs office? Thanks
