I returned to work a few days ago after 3 months off. I'm a nurse so I'm on my feet for the majority of my shift and I've noticed the longer I'm on my feet going about my work the worse the cramping pain in my lower right abdomen is. It got to the point where I just needed to sit down for a while to recover. Does anyone else experience this?

I definitely used to experience that when I had active Crohn's - and also with strictures. I'd always be looking for somewhere to sit down - or actually lie down if at all possible.

Sorry that you're experiencing this too :(

I feel the same! I have a stricture, but no active Crohn's. I work from a home office, but certain times a year I have to go in and be on my feet 9-10 hours. I convince myself that it is worth it the other days I get to work in pj's, but the long days are hard.

I get distended and very sore on my whole right side. When I get home I literally shut down. It takes a couple days to build my energy back up.

...Also... Using a heating pad helps relieve the pressure after those long days for me. I prefer the rice/bead ones that go in the microwave because they mold to my side better. The added weight helps, too, I think.

Can you get portable heating pads that I could stick on and go to work? I think I might get some strange looks if I take my hot water bottle to work even though I really want to!

Duct tape fixing everything! Hold it down and tape it on! ;-)

I put on a tank top, put my heating pad over that, then unroll the top of my yoga pants, to hold it in place. I go over my family's houses like that. I look 6 months pregnant, but the comfort is worth it. Could probably go out and about and let people assume it is pregnancy. Heh!

My NHS work trousers are ridiculous and go up to my armpits so maybe I could just shove a heating pad in and it'll stay put lol
