Its My Birthday And Feeling Fed Up!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry just felt like a moan this morning. Had a blood test two weeks ago in my GP surgery. The day after he phones me and says he is concerned my white cell count is down to 2.6. So I ring my IBD nurse, tell her, and she says she will inform the consultant but she isn't concerned. This was on a Thursday and I have to ring her the following Wednesday for instructions.

Wednesday comes, no call, Thursday no call, messages left. Friday I get hold of another IBD nurse who tells me to stop the azathioprine I take daily immediately, have another blood test asap, and ring Tuesday and tell them how I am.

Aza is stopped. Blood test done. Since Monday I have had diarrhoea with urgency, no appetite to speak off, weight is slowly going down. Was only off aza for 5 days. Apparently second blood test was OK so told to restart. Could being off Aza for 5 days unsettle the Crohns so much. Feel so tired today, and as its my birthday was going to go out with partner this morning, but as there wasnt going to be a toilet nearby, I havent gone.

A couple of weeks a go I felt settled and would have. Feel a bit low today.

Happy Birthday!!! Sorry to hear you won't go out with your partner to celebrate.Is there somewhere you can go,an alternative,to your original plan?Someplace you know there is a toilet nearby in case you need to avail yourself of one? Something you can do with your partner to celebrate your birthday,even if it is different than your original plan?

I wish I could help with the Aza question,but I am not too familiar with it.

Thanks for your reply. When he gets home we will meet up with the family, kids and grandchildren. Might even manage a small trip out where I know where the facilities are, just couldn't do it this morning. Hope your ok

That's good to hear,a birthday trip sounds fun.My birthday is next week and I hope to do something.As you very well know,going out in public is problematic and we need to have a plan.
