Just got a Uc diagnosis

Hello Natasha and welcome.what symptoms do you have ? Have you been prescribed any meds.? U.C. as with any IBD can take many forms.......minimal,mild,moderate,serious and very serious.
5 years is a long time.I'm assuming that since you've just been diagnosed that you've only recently sought help.? Give the meds. time to get to work,but if you don't feel an improvement after a few weeks or so,then go back to your Doc. It's usually trial and error until something works. I agree with Ron,regarding your fatigue. I hope you feel better soon, but please don't hesitate to ask questions.There's always someone who has been through the same who can help.Also your post will be of help to others who are new to this darned disease and are waiting a diagnosis.
My iron and b12 levels were fine last blood test however I've gotten sicker since then so it could be the cause I will he getting blood work done soon. I was first diagnosed with ibs 5 years ago and was always told it's just that. I was getting worst this year so decided to go to a very well known doctor and he diagnosed me within a month. Thank you for your kind response makes me feel very welcome.
You did right to go to the doctors.Too many people "don't want to be a bother" or think the doctor won't take them seriously.But we all know how we SHOULD feel,and if it's not right,then it needs investigating.Please keep us updated.There are many different threads on the forum that might interest you too.Have a good look 'round.
