I am home finally, considering my surgery began at 1245, the anesthesia affected me quite a bit and I couldn't sit up without throwing up. For those of you with moderate to severe motion sickness (me!) and not well-versed in surgical procedures, if they don't ask TELL them you have motion sickness!

I have two holes in my tum, one at the belly button and one four inches below, pain just now kicking in a bit.

So my OB/GYN found no appendicitis, no endometriosis, no nothing except intensified blood vessels attached to my intestines which he found to be abnormal. So exactly what I thought.

He also sent me home with two whole pages of pictures of my insides!! Very cool. Pictures of my uterus, fall. tubes and ovaries (did anyone know ovaries are white?!) my vein-y intestines, my appendix, liver and some other stuff. He talked to my mom about all this as I was fast asleep and didn't get which part of my intestines the big vessels were on or if they are everywhere, my mom does think he might have said the large intestine. Has enlarged vessel been noticed by anyone being in any of your guts?

Anyways, outcome is just as I thought, home and doing ok, bit-o-pain and little woozy. On to the next step, which is hopefully an awesome GI doc at U of M. Fingers crossed!

Yeah, make sure you ask for Phenergen IV when being put out if sedation meds affect you. I get really nauseous and vomit profusely, but with my colonoscopy yesterday I told them this and they gave me 25 mg of Phenergan and no probs.

I got pics of my insides and hope to scan and post them soon!

I'm glad everything went well for you! Hope recovery goes well!

Oh man, I definitely think there was some 'intestinal swirling' that went on, they hurt. Bad. About 100x worse than the puncture wounds, actually I can even feel those unless i bump them. Boo pain and nausea :yfrown:

Thanks katiesue, good tip, i'll have to write that down. I get motion sickness SO bad, especially since my symptoms started, lame, I hate it.

I got my REFERRAL!!!! I talked to my regular doctor, he said, good, glad we didn't find anything like cancer (umm yeah), now what do you want to do? I said gastro doc, he said where, I said UofM. He actually gave me what I wanted since having the laparascopy and I am so glad. I have an appt with a UofM doc that specializes in colitis and crohn's on Aug 10th (and I am on cancellation list)! I didn't get holes poked in me for nothing.
